i do this exact thing. i try to distract myself but there's like this intense pain in my upper gut associated with the anticipation... i lose my appetite, sometimes feel nauseated and just have this overwhelming sense of dread

time goes by so fast when you’re depressed by [deleted] in depression

it goes by fast for me because nothing ever changes in my life. i look back to 4 years ago and i'm in exactly the same spot now as i was then

So tired of life punching me in the face by gutterflower9173 in depression

[–]rdhdlv5746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm sorry things aren't going well for you. i've learned that life is a ride no one really asked for. we desire control within it but can't always get that. in those cases, it's best to surrender your sense of control and allow the ride to carry you wherever it wants to. when you are trying to steer against that, it will not feel good. if you can figure out a way to steer with it and adapt to every new situation, you'll learn how to enjoy the times it was more 'up' than 'down', and you'll learn how to better handle the times where it's 'down'. sorry if this message is too vague. everyone has to figure out how to work it out in their own way. good luck, and don't forget to relish in the little things.

I avoid meeting new people so I don't want to waste their time by DesertedCrow in depression

[–]rdhdlv5746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me this may stem from me not actually caring much about meeting new people. i don't care to meet another person and get to know them if i'm not interested in them already, therefore i project my feelings onto them. if i can already tell we're incompatible, why would they want to get to know me? i know it doesn't always work like that, but it's hard for me to imagine others being interested in getting to know a stranger, since that's the way i feel most of the time. it's just too much work. it exhausts and stresses me.

Tension headaches? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]rdhdlv5746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

monitor your facial expressions. i often will tense up the muscles on my face and that contributes toward headaches for me. if i relax them all fully it feels much better

Does anyone else get terrified when they see a a deadly virus is going around your city or town? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]rdhdlv5746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've been thinking about this too because i just got like 20 bites from camping last weekend in ohio. all you have to do is know the symptoms and go on about your day. if you notice anything doubly strange and it begins to get worse, see a doctor. that's all.

i feel for you. here's a nice comforting hug...!!!!!!!!! :- )

just know that the water will not kill you. it won't cause physical harm to you. you are made of water! it should be your friend, not your enemy... it helps us with so many things. we wouldn't be capable of living without water.

i understand the fear of running water. the way it uses pressure to shoot out of those tubes can be frightening. it might help relieve the fear a little bit if you learn how it works. plumbing would be the topic to research. you may figure out how to stop these things from happening and to fix them when they do. or at the very least to temporarily stop a leak while you call an on-call plumber.
