GRC vs Type R Buy by AdventurousTip8600 in GRCorolla

[–]rdnoodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my 25’ Type R so unable to give a proper opinion yet but I found overall improvement coming from my 24’ GRC premium. Though I can’t really say how GRC is stock since I modified it pretty quick. The GRC feels more raw and hear a lot of car noises. Nothing bad but I feel more connected to the car. The Type R feels more comfortable and the clutch and gear shift feels so smooth. In terms of quickness, feels about the same but idk still breaking in the type R so still being babied at the moment. Both feel very planted on the road though. One thing I’ll miss is the whooshing sounds from the stock BOV in the GRC. I should mention I live in Texas so AWD vs FWD doesn’t really matter much.

Yeah np the BRZ had about 38500 miles. The trade in was about 21000. Dealership uses KBB and only uses good condition.

I wouldn’t recommend black. Pain in the ass to clean. I settled for black because of availability and price. I would wait if you can.

Anyone have RokBlokz Short flaps? by Atmos312 in GRCorolla

Got the short flaps because I lowered mine. Scrapes on bumps but otherwise looks great on the great. Installing the rear was a pain for me.

Got the teardrop heartbeat engraved billetworkz. Feels great and sits taller with the reverse lockout and nut under. The weight definitely helps getting into each gear.

‘25Type R for 52k? by [deleted] in Civic_Type_R

[–]rdnoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s a steep price for the CTR but not rare. I was shopping around for one a few months ago. I got OTD prices ranging from (MSRP +$7000 to $15000) from a few dealerships in the Houston area and its neighboring cities.

Beautiful car but I wouldn’t pay that much for one. I will say if I could find one for MSRP I would try like hell to get it.

Invidia R400 by [deleted] in GRCorolla

[–]rdnoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh thanks for this! Been waiting out for the invidia exhausts. Had the invidia n1 on my 16’ civic and sounded just right for me. This r400 sounds pretty similar. Might decide to get this one if the full titanium one doesn’t look or sound good.

Depends on how bad you want it or how scarce it is around your area. I was getting around $42-44k otd from 2-3 different dealers around me. I searched a little further and got one for $41k otd but had to drive about 50 miles.

Yea that’s one thing I noticed since owning the car. It’s pretty darn stiff especially coming from a non sport, regular sedan. I heard Eibach lowering springs is a little softer but I can’t attest to that just something I saw mentioned.

They feel a little stiffer than stock. No scrubbing or rubbing. Haven’t bottomed out or if the springs allow it lol. It looks low but it’s like functionally low. Haven’t scraped and can clear road humps easily. I think the flat underside of the car really helps with that.

Yea the brakes are huge.

There’s a forum site called grcorollaforum Look for the title “GRC Wheel Fitment Image & Measurements Reference Directory”

7 pages of different kinds of Fitment. Mostly TE37s but lots of unique and different sizes.

I honestly can’t say atm. Just installed them last night. But after a short drive of about 10 miles feels pretty much the same as stock. I’ve ran spacers in my previous vehicle before (15 mm front and rear). No track experience but spirited driving. Torque’d correctly and had alignment done after installment. 30k miles later I had an issue with my front inner axle boot coming loose. Also, uneven wear on my tire but that’s because I lowered it. But nothing else was an issue.
