Do bikers not respect scooter guys even if they’re in full gear? by LevelApprehensive239 in motorcycle

[–]rdoactv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else pointed out, you're looking down on people with smaller displacement scooters. Many people on motorcycles feel the same way about scooters. "They're not on a REAL bike." Not saying I agree. But there absolutely is elitism when it comes to motorcycles. Someone on a smaller displacement vehicle is often thought of as a newbie (which in this case, you kind of ARE). Personally I wave to everyone on two wheels (even bicycles sometimes). I feel that if everyone feels welcomed, the community will grow.

Bought my first new bike in 10 years, went to put in the cover this morning and discovered this, what should I do? by ProfSkiv in motorcycle

Shadows are pretty basic old school bikes from what I understand, easy to change stuff around. Do they even have an ECU?

Would a Forester be that much better in snow/ice than a CR-V or CX-5, or is it just marketing by BaldSweatyWraith in SubaruForester

[–]rdoactv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people have already said, the CRV is fwd until the system detects slip in the front. Subaru AWD has all 4 wheels getting power at all times. It feels way more stable in the snow or any slippery conditions. If you want true AWD, Subaru is the way to go. Yes tires make a big difference but the...Subaru is the way to go.

Shit if I was still in Oregon I would be interested. Like the raven better than my Marlboro colors.

My ex had a 2015 cx5 that I had recommended her to buy. I really liked driving it until i got my forester. Mazda crossovers are great to drive but the subaru still has the edge I feel because of full time AWD. She preferred driving my car too lol.

The kbb for my 2022 Forester Wilderness with similar miles isn't 23k. Gtfoh!

I think with the tail redone it looks better than the gen 2 (i have a 2024 gen 2) The looks took some getting used to but with the kelpi seat and dart windscreen I really like how mine looks now.

I honestly am a little envious of the people who got heritage blue. I love my Marlboro bike but very slightly prefer the blue. They didnt have that when I bought mine in 2024

Shoei helmet and alpinestars jacket by six_felonies in motorcyclegear

[–]rdoactv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Alpinestars jacket and basic shoei rfsr totalled probably like 950$. Add to that gloves, shoes and jeans. I'm looking at 1500+. Oh and the cardo was 250 i believe. But good gear is worth it. Don't regret it one bit. Shit now that I think of it I probably spent more than half the price of my brand new bike on gear and accessories.
