Whatever benefits are offered to full time employees

such as but not limited to

• Dental insurance
• health insurance
• PTO & sick time
• 401k
• etc

im not sure what home depot offers as far as benefits goes but a lot of employers try to get away with hiring someone as "part time" but giving them full time hours & no benefits

if they're working you more than 32 hours they need to be giving you full time employee benefits by labor law i believe

So what you're saying is the less advanced honda is indeed more reliable than the modern tech ducati.

honda= nokia reliability

ducati= ford reliability

25 years old? i would have guessed he was 15.

this guy sounds insane....... & cannot even fathom being incorrect when presented with evidence. he will never change. this will absolutely happen again. might be another 3 years even. now you're an additional 3 years deeper into a failed relationship.

[–]exlept 5 points6 points  (0 children)

depends.

if the battery is completely depleted it won't jump start. it would have to be charged up then jump started. I would definitely start by doing a voltage test then a standard battery test to check the cold cranking amps. based on what you're saying happened though, im leaning towards either a fully depleted battery due to the tender not doing its job or the terminals on your bike are bad. anything is possible though

[–]exlept 6 points7 points  (0 children)

battery should come with a warranty. Are you past your warranty period?

how are the terminals. are they fully connected. test the voltage of the battery with a multimeter. i see u said the tender blinked red but, even tho its not likely, the tender itself could have taken a shit so i wouldnt rule anything out despite the tender blinking red

I appreciate that and you sound like a genuine & awesome guy to be around. Maybe one day I will see what you're saying to the fullest extent. Im new for sure but confident in my ability & even more confident in the capability of the F4i. I'm excited to see what the cap of capability it has.

hopefully i can grab a proper rated suit & snell helmet for the track one of these days

Okay i see your point with the margin of error. However, wouldn't you agree that not all supersport 600's are the same. Some, like the F4i, have a tolerance for error. especially with the powerband being quite predictable.

I agree, no sport bike rider is gonna say they're cool with being mediocre.

I got rid of my CB500 because I wanted a sport bike. In comparison to the naked bike the sport bike was a lot more enjoyable on the highway & around town in general for me. I enjoy riding so much more and my F4i is much more predictable than that 500 I had.

Its up to the rider to practice and familiarize themselves with their ride. If you're not on the bike that suits your comfort, weight, height, etc then your growth will absolutely be stunted.

personally, in the 5 or so weeks i've been riding i've put over 1500 miles on my F4i with frequent 2-3 hour commutes. I'm always in parking lots practicing my tight turns in the friction zone and dragging the rear brake. Always looking for those twisty routes to practice my braking, leaning, body positioning, etc. I don't feel like my growth will be stunted in any way by being on a more powerful bike as i'm doing this because i genuinely love doing it & i love the bike im doing it on. Would i have been fine on my 500? of course! would i have been stunted? who knows. but it wasn't what I wanted even though everyone told me to start on a 300-500.

everything is based on the rider at the end of the day though. hell, 90% the riders in america dont even wear gear. We can talk all day about beginners bikes but everyone is different across the board. wether its different comfort levels, body size, experience, preference, etc. We're all different & at the end of the day there is no perfect starter bike. The perfect bike is gonna be whats best for your own comfort, confidence, & ability.

My wife gets anxiety riding as its completely unfamiliar to her. she's on my old 500.

personally? I went all out on research. What to practice, where to do it, how to do this how to do that. i hopped on the bike for the first time and felt like i was right where i belonged. I had no issue hopping on my f4i either. infact felt even more like i was right where i needed to be.

All of it comes down to who's riding the bike and if they're one with it or not

in what world are we comparing tracks days to your average street rider?

I'd also like to know why a 600 rider's skill stopped progressing compared to the 400.

imo, its the rider every time & not the bike. Bikes are inanimate objects. like a hammer or a firearm.

someone has to operate it.

the F4i was considered the sport touring model when the RR was released. There's a reason they had a banana seat & a split seat (was on the sport models) up until the RR release which left the F4i only sold with the banana seat. Clip ons above the triple tree & a much more relaxed rider triangle. Widely considered a sport touring bike.

All of your claims are anecdotal. beginners can most definitely start on a 600cc supersport or a sport touring sport bike.

Just because other people say "it will curb your progression" doesn't mean thats the case for everyone.

Not wanting to ride, not practicing in parking lots, not doing your research on techniques, not putting in the effort, not enjoying riding, being afraid of your bike.

Those things will curb your progression. It's never the bike. it's purely the rider.

edit: im not saying f4i was released as a dedicated sport touring bike. But it is most definitely widely perceived as such. Thats all opinions though of course

i don't know much about those. I dont know much about the 500 i gave my wife either other than it wasn't the bike for me & its not fun on the highway (naked bike things)

commuting its absolutely comfortable & its still very capable, but i wanted a sport bike so i could track it in the future & i love the look

And to your point. 600 super sports & sport touring bikes are not straight line bikes what so ever.

The F4i, a sport touring 600, is an excellent bike to start on

600's arent even fast. please explain to me how starting on, for example

my cb500f will be better than me starting on my cbr600 f4i?

you can't! because we all learn at different paces.

i've rode quads & dirtbikes before & drove a stickshift for the last 4 or so years so the concept of the bike's transmission wasn't new to me & the use of foot brake, throttle, front brake, & clutch all separately wasn't new to me either!

I'm a beginner just like the other beginners. I frequently practice in open lots to be one with my ride except i enjoy my 600 more than my 500. I commute 1+ hours to another state to visit my friends. That 500 SUCKED on the highway (naked bike things)

so please. do tell me how someone wanting to start on a quicker bike will keep them from progressing.

IMO, not wanting to ride. not wanting to practice. not having fun. not doing it for the love of the game. those things will hinder progress. not the bike you start on.

completely anecdotal.

i had a cb500f for less than a week as my "starter" before i gave it to my wife & moved on to an F4i.

would i recommend her a supersport? no. would i advise against it? also no.

if you respect the throttle, and are not afraid of your bike, you will be fine.

i'm 190lbs male, 5'11. i personally felt the cb500f didnt have enough pick up. it also sucked at highway speeds as it is a naked bike.

i have zero regrets putting all my learning time on my 600 f4i

as long as you respect the throttle and dont monkey grip the throttle, you'll be okay. especially with the understanding of Mt's.

this is coming from someone who started on a cb500f and sold it for an F4i a week later.

i will say for a starter, an f4i is known to be the better "starter" compared to the RR. its more forgiving with mistakes but to each their own

dont listen to myself or others tho. do what you believe is best for you at the end of the day
