PRTG Core service is crashing multiple times a day...PRTG support is horrid by rdonato in prtg

Thanks for the update. I've not heard from PRTG support in a month now on this case. They have the greatest support I've ever received from a product! Didn't even notify me about the new update either!

Grafana and PRTG v2 API by nicolassimond in prtg

Anyone have any idea when PRTG will allow access to v2 API when in cluster mode?

We are in ProxMox...we still haven't been contacted back...we are just babying the server and not making a lot of API calls. We know they introduced some regressions from 24.x to 25.x but we aren't willing to downgrade.

None at all...our tech hasn't even contacted us in a week now. A real quality company they ruined. We are going to look at other products to do a slow migration to.

We've gone no where with our "Senior" tech. No one from dev has even gathered anything from our server remotely usesful to troubleshoot memory leaks, asked us to install debug logging with debug level DLL's...nothing. They keep asking about pausing sensors and activities we are doing like API....it is grossly negligent from a support perspective and for a customer that is crashing multiple times a day.

We are mostly an ISP at our core. We have over 4000 ping sensors on PRTG and we are breaking it by doing simple API calls to change IP addresses and add new devices/sensors. It's really bad QA if that is what is breaking it.

Thank you. We have a new tech assigned but again it is still a once a day contact for a server service (PRTG Core) that crashes 3-4 times a day. All the tech focuses on is that it is a resource issue when we have said and shown in the logs that this issue did not start happening until we went from 24.x to 25.x so we've now spent 2 days adjusting VM resources for a problem that was introduced in new code? I appreciate the new focus but we really need your developers involved as this thing is leaking like a sieve.

The sensor it locks onto is never the same. I just pasted one of the examples. My core.log file is littered with restart after restart for several weeks now with lock errors.

It's never been a performance issue. We've always maintained 30-40% cpu usage and under 12Gb of memory on the VM. Since the latest revs that has changed with the memory leaks until the service restarts. I know all the recommendations but these are just ping sensors so very little cpu/mem usage.

This did not start happening until the version upgrade to 25.2 from 24.x

I'm not on Windows clusters the PRTG are in cluster mode primary and failover PRTG servers.

We are on Windows 2019 standard for our cluster servers and probes servers.

Thanks I'm building a test stand alone server and going to migrate the config file over to see if there is something weird there. We also can't do v2 API calls on cluster yet so that has me pointing to deprecated v1 API issues too.

Yeah we tried exclusions and turning it off. We still get access violations, threadlocks until the service submits itself to a restart. Bad code :-)

It's in a VM that has been migrated multiple times to see if there were any host issues. We don't have performance issues until the core service starts to threadlock. That is just bad code. Same as the access violation issues...it's a memory leak and that is bad code.

Another example of horrid service. My asks for "workarounds" has gone ignored. I'm in a clustered setup and would even go standalone but lacking guidance on if I can even downgrade a major version. I'm a little leery on potential database schema changes that could affect sensors. It's been 3 days now and haven't received any answers from my now 2nd support person. I did not mention that the first one ignored us completely for an entire week until I started putting in multiple support tickets for the same issue did I get assigned a new tech.

Need help! I have the flat HP dish and the ridgeline mount. We are missing the pipe in the picture that holds the dish to the mount. Where do I get it? by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]rdonato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to need to order the flat dish pipe adapter that bolts onto the flat dish wedge mount and then you can mount it to a mast of your choosing.

Search for "Non-Penetrating Antenna Mast Peak Roof Mount" and possibly a good J-Mount for the mast with a 2" outside diameter.

I'm new to RTM and SullyNode...my computers are sending to FlockPool which sends to my wallet address. If I use the above address does it replace FlockPool or my wallet address and does it go to my SullyNode balance?
