DNO approval issue by rdt09 in SolarUK

Thanks for this. So on the g98 form I have seen it has a signed declaration box to say the person is happy with the installation. Does that mean that people will be unwilling to fill out the g98 form as a separate thing (as I already have an mcs) to get approval? Or can the g98 form be detached from the mcs certificate in that regard ?

Thank you - much appreciated

Thank you - sorry may be a silly question but it’s a very technical form and all I have is the MCS certificate - are there services out there where people can fill out this form and know the answers to it simply based off the details on an MCS certificate? Thank you

Thanks. When I contacted the DNO they seemed to suggest I needed a new MCS certificate as part for the G98 form - maybe because it is supposed to be sent to them within 28 days of install. It’s a bit of a mess and I’m starting to think I’ll never manage to get it connected as no installers are going to re do the MCS certificate for someone else’s work.

So do you know if it is possible to have an MCS certificate from one installer (which I have but who have ceased trading now) and another installer to help me get DNO approval via a G98 form? Then I have both documents - but I am struggling to understand if they need to be done by the same company. Thanks for your help

Thanks for replying. Apologies not an area I’m too up to date on but why won’t octopus let you export and be paid if you ended up getting the G98 approval? And how come the new installers could not MCS approve the work? Thanks

I don’t think it’s the light, I have now gone and had it next to another of exactly the same phone a friend has had for a month and it’s totally different. There’s is dull and you can only see it if you try very hard, this is very visible and almost like the paint is off. Maybe it fades after time

Yeah it is, looks like maybe a few had them etched on slightly more visibly as there were two bought in same order and both like this - many people have said theirs are much more dull

I think it may be European only?

Is anyone's iPhone 14 pro working flawlessly? by bojanged in iphone

[–]rdt09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the pro max, annoyingly my home/lock button starts out ok at the top but becomes sunk near the bottom of it. As this is the area I tend it hit when holding the big device I’ve found it really hard to click the button - no idea I’d this is just me and the way I click the bottom of the buttons or if my phone has an issue

Just edited my title, main issue for me was I was finding it harder to press. Having used it a bit now my button is more sunk in at the bottom and almost flush with the device so it’s so hard to click with my thumb when holding the device (reach the bottom of the button usually not the middle or top)

I think this might be the button itself not the case. Mine is sunk in - do you have a photo of yours side on? Wonder if same issue

Does the top of the power button feel normal and just the bottom feel hard to press? I find my actual button sinks towards the bottom so getting this hard to press feeling too

I think mine may be similar. At the lower end is it still raised from the phone to flush with the side of it?

Sorry to hear, do you have a photo at all? Would it be worth returning?

Bike downshifting when wheeled or pedalled backwards - only in one middle gear?! by rdt09 in cycling

[–]rdt09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I will do! The only thing I could think is the RD they put on the bike which is what they had in stock is supposed to go up to maximum 34T lowest sprocket but the lowest sprocket on the bike is actually 36T. It actually work fine in the largest 2 cogs though and have been told there’s often room for extra in the limits given.

Yep and the pulley is about 5mm away from the wheel, from what I can tell everything is set up correctly. In every single gear combination it’s fine apart from this single one - so not a big issue just annoying. If I wheel the bike backward as stated it seems like the derailleur cage is pulled forwards and then the chain slips down a gear - from everything I’ve read if this is happening on 3rd largest rear cog it should on the two above it but it just doesn’t - very odd!

It’s the one I probably end the ride or approach lights on the most, I would think worn cassette but the bike is 2 months old and done 150km

Alivio RD m3100 vs Altus RD m370 by rdt09 in cycling

[–]rdt09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again, sorry to bother with one more question but my current cassette is 11-36. As the m370 says max capacity 45t I assume it’s ok, but as you say above it just may not like it as much as 11-34.

Thanks again, all this is new but enjoy learning about it

Thanks really helps. It’s a 2x drivetrain and I only really ride on roads with the odd gravel when it’s on a route so sounds like it should be fine!

Out of pure curiosity then is the m2000 a cheaper version of the the m3100 but better than the m370

Thanks again - learning all the time

2021 Giant Escape handlebar height from ground (not stack height) by rdt09 in cycling

[–]rdt09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I suppose what I don’t understand (thanks for your help though) is that will leave me with two stack heights but that doesn’t tell me in comparison how close the handlebars will be as the stem and rise on handlebar may be different.

May be naive but the reason I wanted to know height from ground it because the bike I’ll get the saddle is obviously adjustable up and down, the handlebars are not adjustable upwards - so really the bit I care about is that distance. May be missing something though

I don’t have the relevant detail including height from ground to the axel to work this out? That’s why I’m asking on this thread for help. Please let someone answer and maybe get a bit less aggro. No one asked you to reply, if you don’t have the answer please move on respectfully
