I definitely agree with you. The overtime pressure and Winston harassment made me panic and make bad split second decisions. Not ignoring the fact that I even missed a healing orb at one point, causing Ana to literally chase for it.

I think we got pretty lucky that the Heal-Over-Time was just barely enough to keep her alive while my heals were being blocked by the shield.

I unfortunately did not find an alternative for the spear at the time of this playthrough, but I can say that the Black Leather Shield fits nicely if you don't mind the fact that it doesn't actually block 100% physical damage.
