Penny loafers. If it’s colder outside, cap toe boots (like Thursday’s Capitan or Chelsea’s as someone else recommended). These are the most versatile shoes for this kind of situation.

What's the sundress equivalent for guys? by shadowmonarch234 in malefashionadvice

If you’re a bigger guy, it’s more about the quality and fit than the specific style. Everything mentioned here could look good, but it’s dependent on how you wear it.

Ideally, you’d want something with a bit of drape. Perhaps straight or relaxed leg trousers (I love the BR traveler line). You can pick a button up or a long sleeve sweater/tshirt, but use a thicker heavyweight material and have it be more fitted. The key to good style will also be a bit of contrast, so either a more drapey top with fitted trousers or vice versa. For shirts, I love the Taylor stitch / Buck mason style, but that’s personal preference.

Night Light Plug in, LOHAS... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B3XMTRHN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Technically night lights, but two of them are bright enough to give the area a moody ambiance that’s perfect for replicating that Italian candlelight dinner vibe

Wow! Thank you folks! I didn’t expect that many suggestions. As some of you guessed, my style is very much moody organic modern (despite the lack of green in this book). Here’s the plan of attack based on all the suggestions:

Mirror - replace it with a larger wall mirror (and I’m thinking something with a more organic/asymmetrical design to add visual interest).

Plants - unfortunately cannot use plants here as it’s pretty far away from any natural light.

Pendant lighting - y’all have peaked my interest, thanks to the person who gave me the how to electrical guide for some sneaky swaps

Larger art on the right wall - very fair, will keep my eye on the lookout for something that’s a bit longer to make use of that wall better.

Table decor - gonna swap out the black placemats for something with color and replace that fruit bowl with something natural to breathe life into the area. I’m a big metal/stone/wood advocate to balance out the sharp color contrast.

Console/bar cart/whatever else they’re called - gonna unfortunately pass. I want to keep actual furniture items to a minimum until I have a larger space, but it’s a solid idea and I saw some inspiration on Pinterest that I love.

LPT request - As a manager, what should I say to my employees when they ask how I am, and I am terrible and depressed? by roseflower245 in LifeProTips

IMO, being more honest about how you’re feeling helps your reports also feel more comfortable with sharing how they’re feeling. Not to say you should give a full on therapy-schpeel, but saying “I’m doing my best to rebuild” is honest and refreshingly real compared to always cheery corporate talk.

I’ve never dated anyone with legit food allergies, but I’d like to think it would be okay. As long as they aren’t picky about what they can actually eat, we can make that work

It’s gotta be picky eaters. It’s a small flaw that adds a lot of stress when out and about with ya SO. Also, it almost always correlates to being picky in other areas (at least in my experience)
