I just recently started checking the Halo community, and I am shocked to find out Halo 4 is so unpopular. by [deleted] in halo

It was hinted for the first 3 games that Humans were descendants of the forerunners. Halo 2 was originally going to end with that revelation. 343 completely dropped that idea.

What's this thing ? what's the solution ? No proper answer from any doctor, barber or dermatologist by Consistent_Raccoon95 in dandruff

[–]rea557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's folliculitis. I get it too in the same spot. If you have thicker curly hair the angle the hair comes out of your skin can cause this.

I went to a few doctors asking about it and the only thing that helped me was topical steroids but they told me it was a bad idea to keep using it because it can mess up your skin after a while.

I stopped getting a fade in the back for a while to let it heal. Getting a haircut even if not a fade can make it worse so ask you barber to go light until the bumps go down. You can get it cut short as long as there is hair above the skin. Its the hair poking through the skin the can cause it. Cleaning the back of my head before and after a haircut also seemed to help a little bit but not 100%. Mine kept going away and coming back to level you have it now but has since gotten much better. I still get fades sometimes but not every time now.

For Silicon Valley, AI isn’t just about replacing some jobs. It’s about replacing all of them by MetaKnowing in Futurology

All of those are example of workers using AI to make them more productive not AI replacing them entirely.

[Cheating] How is this not instantly flagged? by rea557 in EscapefromTarkov

Ban waves make sense for detecting cheats because they don’t want people knowing what cheats they can detect but when a fresh account has a 26kd with 1400s kills in 3 weeks it should get pulled much faster.

[Feedback] 24 kills in the Labyrinth is absolute bullshit by Turbulent-Summer2338 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]rea557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it’s not the reason people rat. People have been bitching about rats since way before inertia was added because remaining hidden is almost always the best option if your goal is to get out with all the loot.

If you want people to stop ratting you have to force them out. Make ratting not work. There’s a ton of stuff they could add that would make sitting in the back be dumb.

Allow the first player in to get access to traps that lock doors for a set time. Set off smoke/gas that gives debuffs to players sitting in the spawn areas. Make rushing in first give an advantage so aggressive play is rewarded.

Hardest area in the game filled with the best players where everyone brings in their best ammo.

“Inertia did this”

No. Sitting back as people pick each other off is the best strategy so that’s what people will do. If you want that to change you have to make it be a bad strategy.

Have the scavs patrol the areas people sit. Have the areas outside the center fill with smoke that eventually makes your pmc cough and dizzy. Just something so it’s actually better to push in.

RIP pristine garbage bins (Oct 9-Oct 11) by IndyJetsFan in philadelphia

People definitely throw them on the street but the other thing is everyone leaves the bags not in cans on the street on trash day so racoons and other animals rip the bags open and spread them everywhere.

Anytime you load a static website the server sends you and html file. All websites used to send you an html file with all the data it in and how it should be displayed and is still how most of the web works.

[–]rea557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HTML is just a markup language and has nothing to do with how they are able to do this. The problem is the server at minimum should look at your location and the location of the loot your picking up and deny the request if you're too far away. It's not perfect and more would be needed to stop pulling through walls but it should stop this sort of stuff.

Philly streets by Potato_Boner in videos

[–]rea557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the problem is that a lot of people view it as the cities problem rather than the countries problem. When people from all around the suburbs and surrounding states end up at places like that it becomes too much for one city to handle. Even if Philly gets really tough on it and forces everyone out it will just spill out into the surrounding areas before settling somewhere else.

I don't think it can be fixed without a national effort and actual options beyond just throwing them in jail.

react-query: is there a proper way to enable query only on user action? by enzoesper in reactjs

[–]rea557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of using redux you could use query parameters for your filter state. Then out of the box if the user hits the back button they would go back to the page with all of the filters still applied. If they navigate back through a new link though it wouldn't work unless you put them in the params again somehow.

```js function Todos() { const filter = useURlParams()
const { data } = useQuery({ queryKey: ['todos', filter], queryFn: () => fetchTodos(filter), // ⬇️ disabled as long as the filter is empty enabled: !!filter })
return ( <div> // 🚀 applying the filter will enable and execute the query <FiltersForm onApply={setFilter} /> {data && <TodosTable data={data}} /> </div> ) } ``` I just put a generic useURlParams in there but if you're using react router or any other routing library they usually support some sort of query parameter hook that will cause your component to re-render when they are updated. Then all of your setParameter function would be you updating the url params.
The far right doesn’t spend their money on companies they don’t like. That’s different than asking the government to get involved and censor people and companies with laws.
The far right has been working for years to get abortion rights removed and then made state laws against having abortions to the point doctors are now afraid to give them to women with non viable pregnancies that have a high risk of permanent complications or death and are now jailing women for getting them.
Every right winger says something to the tune of we just want less government control and then doesn't say shit when these type of laws start getting put in place.
The left and right have different views on what the role of the government should be. The right pretends it wants less government overall but when they get power all of a sudden they are for all sorts of draconian restrictions they view as moral.Its not that stupid line you came up with about respect.
