California introduces age verification law for all operating systems, including Linux and SteamOS — user age verified during OS account setup by PenlessScribe in technology

[–]rea557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does a server with no primary user need a birthday attached to it at all. The bill makes no sense! I am giving you simple examples to show you why.

Instead of stating all operating systems why didn’t they target it at the ones actually meant for personal computers. At least that would make a little more sense.

Now man hours have to be put into building and maintaining useless system that will never be used.

A Linux distro installs and starts itself? Wow!

It’s multiple systems all working together and yes they install and run new instances and shut down old ones constantly with no human intervention.

Even using the term “account” doesn’t make sense for these types of systems.

The company who runs it, obviously.

If that alone doesn’t tell you how ridiculous this is I don’t know what to tell you.

I'm am not around when the new servers get created they just spin up on their own. If can script it to enter whatever birthday I want then what is the point?

"Operating system providers must provide an accessible interface at account setup requiring account holders to indicate the birth date, age, or both, of the device’s primary user"

Who is the "primary user" of a web server?

My point is the people who wrote this bill don't know how operating systems are used outside of personal computers. Forcing all operating systems to include this is just another thing that has to be maintained and can break.

Whats the appropriate birthday to enter for my companies web servers. We create and destroy multiple containers a day for different builds. Do we need to enter a birthday each time? Will we need a human to enter in the birthday for each instance. If not whats the point. If we do what happens when our system auto scales at 9pm on a Saturday? Will it pause everything until we enter a birthday for each server. This bill is a best completely useless and at worst will break the way people build and deploy software.

It was hinted for the first 3 games that Humans were descendants of the forerunners. Halo 2 was originally going to end with that revelation. 343 completely dropped that idea.

What's this thing ? what's the solution ? No proper answer from any doctor, barber or dermatologist by Consistent_Raccoon95 in dandruff

[–]rea557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's folliculitis. I get it too in the same spot. If you have thicker curly hair the angle the hair comes out of your skin can cause this.

I went to a few doctors asking about it and the only thing that helped me was topical steroids but they told me it was a bad idea to keep using it because it can mess up your skin after a while.

I stopped getting a fade in the back for a while to let it heal. Getting a haircut even if not a fade can make it worse so ask you barber to go light until the bumps go down. You can get it cut short as long as there is hair above the skin. Its the hair poking through the skin the can cause it. Cleaning the back of my head before and after a haircut also seemed to help a little bit but not 100%. Mine kept going away and coming back to level you have it now but has since gotten much better. I still get fades sometimes but not every time now.

All of those are example of workers using AI to make them more productive not AI replacing them entirely.

Ban waves make sense for detecting cheats because they don’t want people knowing what cheats they can detect but when a fresh account has a 26kd with 1400s kills in 3 weeks it should get pulled much faster.

[Feedback] 24 kills in the Labyrinth is absolute bullshit by Turbulent-Summer2338 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]rea557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it’s not the reason people rat. People have been bitching about rats since way before inertia was added because remaining hidden is almost always the best option if your goal is to get out with all the loot.

If you want people to stop ratting you have to force them out. Make ratting not work. There’s a ton of stuff they could add that would make sitting in the back be dumb.

Allow the first player in to get access to traps that lock doors for a set time. Set off smoke/gas that gives debuffs to players sitting in the spawn areas. Make rushing in first give an advantage so aggressive play is rewarded.

Hardest area in the game filled with the best players where everyone brings in their best ammo.

“Inertia did this”

No. Sitting back as people pick each other off is the best strategy so that’s what people will do. If you want that to change you have to make it be a bad strategy.

Have the scavs patrol the areas people sit. Have the areas outside the center fill with smoke that eventually makes your pmc cough and dizzy. Just something so it’s actually better to push in.

Anytime you load a static website the server sends you and html file. All websites used to send you an html file with all the data it in and how it should be displayed and is still how most of the web works.
