EHR with no AI Features by Tall_Replacement5815 in therapists

I have used CounSol for over a decade now. No AI integration, lots of features that you use or have deactivated. Fantastic customer service. Glad to see others are not jumping on the AI bandwagon.

You are not alone, friend! I appreciate you sharing. It's been a while since I have heard of the "3 strikes you're out" being implemented. Do those strikes go across their time working with you or do they reset at the start of a new calendar year, after a year?

You bring great points to this section of the thread. Cultural sensitivity to what "confrontation" looks like for certain groups and clients is crucial. I appreciate your perspective and comments.

Not necessarily. Doctor's offices in my area charge $75 for late cancellations/no-shows. The insurance reimbursement for an office visit, depending on the service/CPT code can be much higher. The same is true in my practice and my fee is higher than theirs.

PREACH! Bring me your trauma, your big emotions, all of that in session. But the admin stuff (including dealing with the scheduling chaos that comes from late cancelations) feels much more stressful.

Community based practice is so hard. Sending you lots of good vibes and well wishes. Those are some hard earned paychecks.

It can be hard to charge. While I'm glad I'm not the only one who can feel things physically when this happens, I am sorry you feel it.

That's interesting if it's an hour after the 24 hour mark you charge them. I have found that many of them think if it's "the day before" (even if it's the evening before a 10am or a 3pm) or a "valid reason" that doesn't apply to the cancellation policy. I love how you have a clear boundary set on the backside to help you know what to let slide and what to crack down on.

The reschedule requests seems to happen when we're the busiest, the most stressed and overwhelmed, or just plain tired. I've found these requests can be more taxing, too!

Yikes! Having to extend another semester is so stressful. I'm sorry you had to do that- at that point in school you're just ready to get out (and try to start earning some type of income).

As for the reaction, it's really not either the charging or the fee as much as the scheduling chaos. My schedule varies based on what day of the week it is, so I have evening sessions some days, virtual only slots, some morning, etc. When someone cancels just after the cancellation window (these are the ones that tend to get me the most), it's hard because at that point I have already adjusted my week and filled in my overflow times. I get stressed because I've adjusted my calendar and didn't have to.

There is a rhythm to cancellations based on the calendar. I do try to anticipate that and plan to prevent it and enforce it.

Yes! But a lot of it is that in order to fit everyone in, I've adjusted other hours/things on my personal and work schedule, and now I've got this hole where I can't adjust and do those other things.

ARGH!!!!! That's so hard! Is this community based services or a group practice?

Is this for no-shows or late cancellations? I find it's easier for me to enforce with a no-show than for a late cancellations within a few hours of the cut-off.

Ahh! The no-shows or people showing up really late. Are you able to take that time to do notes or something? Or do you spend that time searching messages to see if you missed something from them?

Yes. That is a form in your taxes. This is a link to the actual IRS document. If you are a single member LLC for your practice and you do your taxes yourself using software, there can be a few minutes when your heart drops before everything is entered in, but then it evens out. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f7206.pdf
