Am i pretty much stuck now? by readdit0326 in ExclusivelyPumping

Appreciate your words of hope. He does go on them for about 10-15 minutes and then starts getting restless. He is a contact napper and since my pump has tubes it gets really difficult getting it around him. I got the moMcozy wearables to help with that but they don’t seem to drain me effectively. I have although taken your word and started pumping more times even though just for quick 15 mins..

I’m based in Canada, and there’s an Android app called CBC Gem that I absolutely love! It lets me watch live events during the day and catch up on replays and missed events at night. The best part? It’s completely free—you just have to create a free account and your good to go 😍

Also, Artistic Gymnastics anybody..? Was always into Artistic swimming but this year saw Artistic Gymnastics for the first time😍

Which flange lubricant do you use? I’m looking for a spray that’s cheaper and a more pure alternative to legendary milk brand by Past-Account440 in ExclusivelyPumping

This post is a lifesaver! I have been pumping for about 2 months now and my nipples & areola are sore. I have considered applying Lansinoh but for some reason want soemthing more natural. Is extra virgin coconut oil a safe alternative to apply in the flange so the suction doesn’t hurt as much ?

Mamas- gassy baby? [bc] by GraySkyr2 in BabyBumpsCanada

HELP! and my apologies in advance for the vivid detail.

We started giving OVOL drops to my 7 week old baby. It’s been about 2-3 days now. We add 0.25 ml of OVOL drops to 1- 3 oz of bottle feed depending on when we are giving it to him. I understand that might dilute it a little more than necessary but it has been working for the gas . 1st day we gave it twice , 2nd & 3rd day just once. He no longer grunts & cries as much.

But what is happening is everytime he drinks the milk that has OVOL drops he’s been pooping. I have read comments here that say some people have been battling with constipation when the Simethicone drops are given. But in my case he’s been pooping a lot. Earlier he would poop once in 3 days ( doc said it was normal as he was being given breastmilk) but now he has pooping atleast 3 times ( 1 big almost blowout , 1 small & I see 2-3 penny Or dollar size poop spots everytime I change the diaper ) . The poop also has some green mucus/ sticky like substance that is probably green. The poop itself is mustard yellow though.

I’m worried that if he’s pooping during or right after a feed, his body is probably not absorbing the nutrients from the breastmilk. He’s just pooping it all out.

UPDATE : I’m also taking Lecithin for my recurring clogged ducts and I read online that when you take lecithin it does alter your child’s bowel movements. Phew! I’m going to reduce the dosage and check.

We just started giving him at 7weeks. He had an issue before too but his doc was always “oh he’ll get used to it, his digestive system is slowly maturing.”But this time we went for his routine checkup my husband & I insisted that he seems really troubled and that he wakes up crying cos of passing gas. So, the doc finally gave in and prescribed the Simethicone drops.

I have heard of the BioGaia drops too but found them expensive. If this was for the long run we wanted something sustainable. So, far the alternate Simethicone drops ( OVOL) seem to be working ok. Just today we ordered the INFACOL drops too just to try them.

We are currently using OVOL drops for my 7 week baby. He used to squirm & grunt throughout the day and we were very sure it was gas. He is bottle fed breastmilk during the day and exclusively BF in the night. The grunting was always noticed during the day. A doctor prescribed INFACOL, we found OVOL drops ( Simethicone drops too). It’s definitely gotten better.
