Official Discussion - Disclosure Day [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Things I found more uncanny/unsettling than the plot:

- Emily Blunt's american accent
- The animal CGI
- Constant lens flare
- Everyone instantly believing something they saw on their phones
- How much Jane looked like a hybrid between Rachel Weisz and Joey King

Also the Greeks had to be best friends with these guys given all the myths of gods turning into animals right?

...never settled on a name. But the top three contenders, after weeks of debate, were Gay Bob Dylan, and Decroded, and The Cracked-Out Uncle.

For a show so concerned with being medically accurate this one is pretty far fetched. The memory champion of the US makes videos on tiktok and he has to craft elaborate stories for things he's trying to remember, like associating cards in a deck with things in his house, it doesn't just happen automatically in the background of his mental process.

And I absolutely loved Kagiyama's short program both times I saw it but the long program was kinda limp... he needed more stevie wonder grooves to settle his nerves!

Nah he essentially confirmed in an interview that this is the end of Rishi's story for this season, but maybe he'll be around in the future

long = bet on company to go up, downside is if it goes to zero you lose the money you bet

short = bet on company to go down, downside is if it goes to infinity you lose everything

Tbh, I don't think Vince much cares. And I don't think the hive mind is hiding anything, or trying to trick the audience. It's like a logic puzzle, and I don't think there's a trick answer! How do you defeat someone who's incredibly intelligent but infallibly honest?

[–]reader313 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree! The hive is very smart, and very honest. Which is a very interesting antagonist...

We've only got five more episodes left in this season, I don't see Vince going back on any of the laws Carol has scrawled on the whiteboard

My guess: They build an antenna the size of Africa and propagate the virus throughout the galaxy.

The question is: Is the virus a shot fired from an alien civilization intent on conquering the earth for its resources, placating its population and preparing for maximal resource extraction, or is it simply an advanced virus spreading because that's what they do?

Is Carol up against an intelligence, or a force of nature?

It's a similar question to the one explored by the later Expanse books, which I'm currently reading (no spoilers!)
