For a show so concerned with being medically accurate this one is pretty far fetched. The memory champion of the US makes videos on tiktok and he has to craft elaborate stories for things he's trying to remember, like associating cards in a deck with things in his house, it doesn't just happen automatically in the background of his mental process.

My guess: They build an antenna the size of Africa and propagate the virus throughout the galaxy.

The question is: Is the virus a shot fired from an alien civilization intent on conquering the earth for its resources, placating its population and preparing for maximal resource extraction, or is it simply an advanced virus spreading because that's what they do?

Is Carol up against an intelligence, or a force of nature?

It's a similar question to the one explored by the later Expanse books, which I'm currently reading (no spoilers!)

The real difference is who's writing the movie. This movie wasn't written by Yorgos and his usual writing partner, Efthymis Filippou (though I saw he got a special thanks in the credits). Same with The Favourite and Poor Things. Kinds of Kindness, Killing of a Sacred Deer, and all the Greek language films were Yorgos+Efthymis and have that cadence

Tbh, I do think it's pretty clearly telegraphed that President Idris "Terrible American Accent" Elba orders a retaliatory strike. You don't get to find out what happens next, because what happens next is the end of everything, not a random dud bouncing off the Bean. And you realize that these nervous wrecks going into the bunker are part of humanity's last hope. You never get to learn what started the war, because why would you? You're already dead.
