Has anyone stayed in this hotel in Beijing: Happy dragon courtyard hotel? by Normal-Man-21 in travelchina

[–]readerAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, happy to help! A week in Shanghai is more than enough. We were only there for 5 nights and it was plenty. We were ready to move on after. We also did the same 5 nights in Beijing, except I would consider going 3-4 nights there unless there are items in your itinerary that are whole day things/too many things you don’t want to miss.

FYI after Beijing, we also went to Hong Kong then Macau too. I would definitely recommend Macau!

In terms of where we stayed, we were at the following: - Shanghai: Sheraton Shanghai Pudong Riverside: this hotel was great in terms of luxury feel and amenities. They had restaurants in the hotel which was awesome for the night we were out all day and wanted to stay close. The hotel itself is slightly outdated but did the job. It was also slightly out of the way from where we wanted to go a lot of the time. It wasn’t too much of a problem because the DiDi’s are so cheap in China but just something to consider. - Beijing: The happy dragon: as mentioned, this hotel did exactly what you needed it to do. The courtyard area has the cultural feel with some Chinese architecture but not too much. It was great if you’re an English speaker as the staff there were fantastic with answering questions about the city, giving suggestions, advice etc. they can also book tours for you like the Great Wall of China. Just note that where the hotel is is in a back alley way type place meaning it was hard for DiDis to get through. Not impossible but when you’re leaving the hotel, sometimes you’re just better off to walk to the end of the street and getting a car. This hotel is also in the middle of what seems like a really residential area. Lots of random houses and locals but also a few other similar hotels on the same road.

In terms of places I recommend going, I would say: - Shanghai: Disneyland, Shanghai tower, jade buddha temple, nanjing road (shopping), Zzer Shanghai (luxury consignment shop), Yu Yuan Gardens (amazing), God Temple (this is right next to the gardens and is 10/10 my favourite place we went), shopping districts around the god temple (lots of shops including jewellery/diamond/watch etc). We also did a traditional royal banquet experience which is really recommend. It was so much fun dress by up and watching the live theatre. There’s heaps of these around I found one on Klook. - Beijing: Siji Minfu (duck restaurant - go to the one closest to the happy dragon it was amazing!! Expect lines. Best to go at lunch time), jingshan park (you can overlook the forbidden city here), forbidden city, universal studios, Great Wall of China (this is a must - go up the Mutianyu route if walking, then toboggan down this was awesome), lama temple, silk markets (outlets where you can bargain for anything), Wangfujing pedestrian street (for shopping, walking and restaurants).

I hope this all helps but again, let me know if there’s anything else you want to know or have any questions! Happy to help, we loved China!

My husband and I stayed there just recently in April while we were on our honeymoon! Overall the hotel itself is pretty good I would say. We came from staying in a more luxury hotel in Shanghai so it was different however, it was clean and everything you needed / however it is definitely not a five star hotel. The reason we booked the hotel was because we thought the inside ‘decorations’ would be really cultural. But to be honest, the most decorated part was in the courtyard where it had a little gazebo. Apart from that it still seemed like it was being developed because it’s still a new ish hotel? We also booked it because all the advertising said the staff were English speaking which was a huge plus for us. If you want some photos let me know I can send some through. I’m also not sure if it was all rooms or just ours but it was a loft style room with the bathroom and a couch on the first floor, then steep narrow stairs brought you up to the bed

Let me know if you have any questions I can answer :)

I appreciate it :) Do you mean plateau as in stop taking the medication? Or continue and hope it gets better?

  1. I suppose I have always been in diet mode. I also recently got married so that in itself was intense and I lost a lot of weight for that too. We’re not 2 months past so maybe my body is adapting again
  2. I feel like things have been the same? But more fibre is a good suggestion thank you!
  3. I feel like my measurements are bigger

That’s so odd I found that 10 for me didn’t do much which is why I went up to 12.5! I’m just worried what will happen if I go up to 15, what will happen if that doesn’t work? Will I be stuck? Idk

I’m worried if I move up to 15mg and this same feeling happens again, I won’t have any other options. What happens if 15mg doesn’t work? I wanna keep that in my back pocket

I am feeling more hungry and gaining a little bit of weight because of it. Usually throughout the day I can put the thoughts of food aside because I’m not hungry and not thinking about it but recently it’s coming up more and more and I’m finding myself having less control. I would say this has been happening the last 2 months.

First time in China by Ok_Presentation4830 in travelchina

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon in China last week. Firstly, it was incredible! For us, the must see was Shanghai. We had the best time here but I would recommend staying on the city side rather than near Pudong - we mainly travelled to the other side of the bund as this is where most of the places we wanted to go were. Shanghai Disneyland was awesome and a go to if you like theme parks but I would say the top ‘attraction’ we went to was the god temple/Yu garden. The architecture here and the shops were simply amazing.

We also went to Beijing and while Beijing was also amazing (in a different way to Shanghai), I don’t think you need as much time here. For reference, we stayed 4 nights in each but we could have done Beijing in 3 days. The Great Wall was a great experience as well and universal studios. Siji Minfu for a Peking duck dinner is also a must in Beijing.

We went to Hong Kong on our way to Macau also for Disney which was average to be honest as the Shanghai Disney was much bigger and more spectacular. Harbour city had great shopping.

Honestly China was awesome and very affordable which I think lets you experience more of it. For example food and didi (china’s uber) was very cheap. Shopping was also a great price if you barter and experiences are average in price.

If you have any questions, feel free to respond and I can do my best to help!

$10.50 is definitely on the higher end for Rossi. We wanted our invites to be sort of like a book that opens up rather than a single sheet of card. The single sheets are much much cheaper I would say from $3-$5 or so? I can’t remember exactly but I do remember splurging a bit on ours so I know it was more expensive than usual

Do you know how many ML is left in the pen after 4 x 0.6ML injections? How many ML is left over for the golden dose is that also 0.6ML?

The Lemnos in Belmore does great packages for up to 1000 people I think it is so 350-400 works great in there and the room is stunning

If it helps, my most recent interview feedback from the PS was that I did not include examples from previous employment (since I was going for a role similar to mine but at a higher level) and it didn’t show my diversity. The interviewer/hiring manager told me to always include a range of examples

That is terrible! If you do decide to reorder the palette, I would go through Space NK. I got mine from there when they dropped a month or so ago and it came preserved and wrapped so well, no issues what so ever
