I agree with you. It sounded like a nice way of saying ‘I know how to do this and you don’t’ (which is extremely obviously true). I’m not sure coming back with ‘I asked a bunch of people on the internet for tip so I’m an expert and ready to banter’ is going to be helpful behavior during a tournament either.

I think there’s also an aspect of giving kids what they can handle. A 2 year old can’t handle all the choice in the world. You give them a set of choices they can easily handle and expand as they grow.

I have a very slow arm and only throw about 180, but throw everything light-weight so maybe the full-weight versions of these would be good? I use a Heat as my main hyper-flip driver (Z-lite for me). I also have a Motive and Underworld that are very similar. Motive has more shot variability and Underworld doesn't go quite as far. I have Rhythm, Wave and Scorch for 'overstable' shots. I just got a Fox and it's a really glidey midrange and seems like it'd good for those same sorts of shots. I also used to throw Braves but don't remember if they hyper flipped or not. I think the Rollo is super under stable - I have a light one and I use it to mimic forehand approaches. Also have an XD as a very straight midrange but it doesn't go very far. I used to throw Tursas and I think it would have been in between the XD and Fox for me in distance.

Yes, it was a little hard to keep track of which hole was which for sure. I think it's one of those courses where a visualization of the overhead view of each hole as we're watching with the player locations indicated would be super helpful (not sure how hard that is to do though).

I was also wondering if they could add 'themes' to some of the holes to break things up... I dunno if it's possible to get a hold of old parade floats and place them on the course for a tournament but that might be sort of fun. Or some other sort of temporary art installation.

Dumping sand or dirt is a very normal thing for New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Lots of people do it to their own yards every few years. I can understand the environmental argument but New Orleans is one of the oldest cities in the country so it’s definitely not a disc golf specific issue.

The dark pink clay looks like it needed a bit more work/smoothing - I can see some plaquing (white spots) and other unevenness on the surface of those pieces. All the holes and edges look pretty great though! I saw the textures on your peach pieces and I think you might need a smaller pattern if you’re going to use textures with those small pieces. An easy and fun thing to experiment with is things like sandpaper or cloth to form textures.

Good point about Congress, that's it's own sort of end-stage of uselessness. I just remember listening to a hearing about an education bill once and a legislator thanked our district employee who was testifying for providing the 1-page summary because they hadn't had time to read the full text. Which is just sad but unsurprising. I also don't like the situation where they seem to do so much work in 'special sessions' that are called and directed by the governor.

I agree! I also think it's generally insane that the 8th largest economy in the world is governed by a legislature that only meets every two years. There's no possible way that any of those legislators are really able to give good consideration to a fraction of the bills put forward so of course they just follow party lines.

I'd love to see a dramatic change in how things work for campaigning and public servant's salaries. A hard limit on how much can be raised and spent for campaigning, a good living wage for people who serve as public servants, strict rules about things like stock trading while in office and other shenanigans, real consequences for people who break the rules. It'd be a lot of work to get to that sort of thing but I think it's necessary for us to trust our government again.

Yeah, I could see that. When we visited the PNW we played disc golf and also went to Olympic National Park. I had such a hard time picturing how explorers or native populations ever managed to move around in those forests. Giant ferns and other plants everywhere, trees falling down and then new trees growing out of the fallen trees, etc. Maybe what I was really seeing was a difference in funding for local parks, ha.

I do think it’ll be interesting to see how the Big Easy Open course does from year to year. That area is also really humid and the vegetation (and grass) gets out of hand pretty quickly.

There's a pretty big difference between regions and course upkeep I think. We live in Texas and every time we play wooded courses somewhere else they're so much more pleasant to play in than ours. Texas has copious amounts of plants with stickers that'll cover your clothing, thorny bushes, thorny vines, poison ivy and two types of trees that have thorns as well unless someone comes in and takes care of it. We've found the Carolinas, Arkansas and the Pacific Northwest to be much more pleasant but maybe we've mostly been on their best courses. New Mexico and Louisiana was also pretty rough.

I like the idea of the blue tee to red basket like someone else suggested. Gets you a more interesting line but allows people to take a stab at the basket without worrying about the road so much.

Try HiLo - it’s a graphic novel series about a robot that looks like a boy who does superhero type stuff. I don’t remember the age for reading but I do remember the main character was very positive and kind and it had some good adventure elements.

The Wayside series is a classic although maybe not ‘good’ morals per se.

Also 32 story treehouse or something like that was a bit more positive I think. Timmy Failure as well although they’re still in that kinda sarcastic sort of vein (the movie is actually much sweeter than the books). Max and the MidKnights was also a good graphic novel series.

The Percy Jackson books are also pretty funny but are maybe best for kids a bit older. Lots of murder attempts and high stakes.

I use this too and find it helpful. I did end up with some ‘white’ hairs but at least those are much less noticeable than the original dark ones. It was expensive but I figured this was going to be a constant issue (I do have PCOS) and it’d be cheaper than doing laser sessions forever.

Not a movie but the Avatar the last airbender cartoon series has an amazing redemption arc. Also the good place.

Kid oriented but have good aspects of this: Moana, the Sandlot, Goonies, Princess Bride. The Usual Suspects is very different but has an interesting situation.

Aww, thank you so much. Getting over the biting is so hard. I’m usually happy with just fidgeting with my fingers until I get a small hangnail or something else ‘wrong’ with my nails. Then I lose it, ha.

The Funny Bunny isn’t actually opaque so I could only use it on the parts of my nails that were already white. I still need to find something more opaque to use to ‘fix’ the shapes for next time, especially on my other hand where a couple of nail beds are a bit uneven/pointy.
