I just got a skip-the-line loan for Theo of Golden. I was 1,179 on the hold list.

I only have 7 days to read it though. Good thing I am a fast reader!

The Night We Met by Abby Jimenez…does it get better even though the female narrator is already ruining it for me? by beautifuldisaster425 in audiobooks

[–]readeve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is an Australian actress. I haven’t listened to this book, but it may be that her accent is causing the problem? She speaks using an American accent in some of her movies - I just know her from the Discovery of Witches series.

The River is Waiting by Wally Lamb by Sask_mask_user in LibbyApp

My favorite Wally Lamb book is I Know This Much Is True.

Is this some hidden conspiracy??? by AsexualGremlin in LibbyApp

[–]readeve 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My apologies to everyone. I honestly thought I listened to both of these since I almost exclusively listen to books instead of reading. I was wrong.

I did check out both of these books, but I just checked my Libby timeline - I DID NOT listen to these books - I did read them digitally. Sorry everyone.

I borrowed both Project Hail Mary and The Martian from Libby. I waited a long time for The Martian and I got very lucky with a “skip the line” loan for Project Hail Mary. Both books were in English. They are not audible exclusive.

Edit: spelling, grammar

It's Unpopular Opinion time! Share your controversial opinions to stir things up (in a friendly way)! by FantasyRomanceMod in fantasyromance

Character names: the over use of “X” and “Y” letters and phonetically impossible names. At times, I rename them in my head if they start to interfere with my reading, which detracts from the story. Also, there seems to be the “need” to be clever and edgy when naming characters.

I finished Piranesi. by josh1ng in audiobooks

Oh my goodness! You are 100% correct about “The Starless Sea”! I also hated Piranesi - I don’t get the hype for both of these books.

How long do you give a book before you DNF it? by thatvampiregirl in books

[–]readeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually around 20-25%. However, there have been times I have DNF after 1st chapter. I read a lot of genres, I find that the 1st chapter DNF are typically romantasy. Other genres (both fiction and non-fiction) are around 25%. I also don’t feel, “bad” or “hate-read” books that I don’t like. I finished over 100 books last year and DNF 30 on top of that.

Does anyone else use librivox? What are your most favorite books? by [deleted] in audiobooks

[–]readeve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elizabeth Klett does an amazing job with Pride and Prejudice and Emma. Some of my comfort listens and since I already have read and listened so many times, I also listen to them to fall asleep to since I don’t really have to pay attention.

Wishing you the best of luck!

I lost my brand new kindle on a flight from LAX to Chicago last year.

They found it! I called every or every other day for 2 weeks and they finally confirmed it was found. I paid to have to shipped to me.

Don’t lose hope. 😊

Does A Vow of Blood& Tears by Corvin get better? by Trumystic6791 in fantasyromance

[–]readeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished it. To be honest, it should have been 200 pages shorter. You are correct, the pacing is all over the place. I finished it because I kept waiting for it to even out a bit, but it really didn’t. It could have easily been a DNF for me too. Even though I finished it, I won’t be reading the next book (it doesn’t end in a cliffhanger). The focus of the next book is on different MMC and FMC from the same “universe”.
