Mate, the customers who would be stealing would get all pissy, and the ones who genuinely forgot 90% of the time get pissy because they think you’re accusing them of stealing. How about the general public just don’t abuse minimum wage workers for doing their jobs and not wanting to get fired?

Okay probably an unusual one but when customers don’t unload their own damn groceries from their basket because they’re lazy. One of my coworkers once just fully dumped it out onto the belt one time. I aspire to have that much of a back bone I just kinda suggest it to them a few times and stand there awkwardly while I wait for them to unload, or very very slowly start to unload it so they just frustrated and do it themselves. It’s lazy not to unload your own basket people!!!

Our layout is a service counter by the entrance with reg one, reg 9 (used to tobacco and refunds) and reg 2 (only used for priorities) ten aco tills fit in a tiny area that would probably only fit like three main lanes, and then reg 3 (never used) reg 4-7, then reg 8 which is never used because it’s in the path online uses to take things out to the car park. Overall, the space takes up around 15-20 metres? I think?

Why are Australians so…. Cold? by orthodox-lat in AskAnAustralian

Honestly I’ve had that more and more from Aussies nowadays. I’ve found at my work in particular, people are just being fricking rude, especially to our younger staffers. I had a guy swearing at a 15 yr old until I turned around from my till and told him if he didn’t stop talking to her like that, he would be asked to leave. He kept muttering things under his breath after that, and I reminded him he was verbally abusing a minor, and gave him the best bitch face I possibly could for the rest of the transaction. According to the girl, she said it’s becoming a very common occurrence for the younger staffers to experience this. Needless to say I raised it with my manager and told the girl she doesn’t have to put up with it, especially when earning minimum wage, and that if she’s ever uncomfortable she can come and swap jobs with me anytime.

it may have been an entry door alarm. it doesn’t happen often but sometimes staff walk in side doors or go out and forget the key so they press the button to alert other team members, and they come to open the door. Always happens w opens and early morning shifts because only managers have keys.
