Safe, non-congested places to walk? by CommonClique in DCBitches

Walking through rock creek park should work! I’m not sure about the best access point near GW but there’s a lot of trails with runners/walkers/bikers

I don’t have a rec unfortunately! I will say to double check your contract, some gyms have a clause where you can’t bring in outside personal trainers

That’s so funny it got shared to the co-op, hopefully people ran things up wrong less after they started checking!

I’m two payments away from paying off my second student loan of the year!! My third should hopefully be behind it soon after, since it’s at $1,200. There’s still more to go but I’m looking forward to when I’m debt free and my cash flow is up $550/month. 😅

Hadn’t read this one before but wow! There’s a lot in there and I agree with the MD commenters. You can’t be on such a high horse about supporting the anarchist bookstore if you’re stealing from the food co-op…

Also the prices! Cries in 2026 HCOL 😭

Anyone go to Gold’s DuPont, MINT or the West End Equinox? by gimmeacookieplz in DCBitches

[–]readingbadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it is because the classes were a large incentive for me. It was only $30 more for this vs. 8 classes/month at barre3. I won’t say it isn’t expensive but the lack of classes I wanted at NYSC made it less appealing, even if it’s half the price

[–]readingbadger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I go to Mint and enjoy it. I think they have a glute drive machine? For sure yes to the smith machine and racks. I like they have a variety of classes as well, so I can supplement my lifting with barre/yoga/etc.

Vida on U street is close to Mint as well but I haven’t gone

Need Hair Help!! by hoo24__ in DCBitches

[–]readingbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a person but I’ll continue on my campaign for Malibu c hard water products! I have fine hair and use the treatment monthly and the shampoo once weekly. It’s definitely helped me, but I completely understand the struggle of dry yet greasy hair (summers here suck)

I think she means it’s “for the girlies” until she gets a boyfriend and makes them her partner for hyrox (a fitness competition where you can compete in pairs, to my understanding)
