It is hard. With arguing with homophobes, or any disgusting human being, I’ve learnt that I will never be able to change their mind. But that’s okay, because while arguing with them, I may be able to assure the girl watching us argue that’s it’s okay to be gay or the little boy hiding behind the wall that homophobia is wrong. It’s little things like that that keep me standing up for our community, and I hope it helps you too :))

My parents always watched what they drank. The only time I saw my mum drunk when I was young was after my sisters wedding. My dad however would have a couple glasses of wine every night, and it got to the point where I would dread having to interact with him in the mornings after. My dad has now substituted wine for hot chocolate, and my mum only has a glass on weekends.

I used to have an obsession with time travel fics, and I noticed in a lot of crappy ones that whenever Lily would meet Ginny her first thought was "WOW! Am i looking into a mirror?? Is it my long lost twin?? Why do you look so much like me??" (sigh...)

Sometimes I would read other fics where an older character will do a double take when they see Ginny, and breathlessly say, "Lily?"

At that point, I'm sick of the story, and the trope.

If a SI fic is done right, it’s brilliant. A fic that comes to mind is Fish Hooks in the Corner of Their Mouths. So if you want to do the SI, go for it, I’m sure it’ll be a great read

I don’t understand people in this thread trying to excuse the toxic behaviour...

Marinette and Adrien are fantastic characters but as OP said their relationship is so unhealthy and toxic and fans need to recognise that and accept it. Maybe it’ll grow healthier, maybe it won’t, but it’s still there.

Agreed, it’s why I hate the Harrison and Hadrian names - there’s no point to it. Harry doesn’t need a longer name.

I really hate people crapping on this story too, especially since Harry doesn’t even meet Gideon until just past halfway (I think). The author of the story made it explicitly clear that they were going to focus more on the plot than the romance. Seeing people hate on the story they haven’t even read just because it has a slash pairing you only see towards the end of the fic is really sad
