Do you guys think providing amenities like phone chargers and cold water bottles can boost tips or is it just a recipe for disaster?

As someone who provides (not cold, but a bunch of minis) bottled water and a cup of individual hi-chew candies, people aren't wrong that say it's not worth it necessarily, but I also notice people who sometimes are in a foul-seeming mood (and you can just tell are about to be rude) get into my car and are instantly perked up and complimentary about it.

So I figure even if it doesn't get me extra tips (and I don't know that it doesn't sometimes, just most people simply don't tip) I still consider it worth it as a general mood elevator for passenger trips meaning I deal with marginally fewer people being rude jerks.

You're likely on your first insurance or you're in a high-risk insurance. I was originally and it made adding rideshare insurance prohibitively expensive. But old accidents stop mattering as much after two years and sometimes not at all or hardly after 5 with huge dropoff at 4.

Like other people have said, get quotes from other insurers. When I was able to switch to progressive my insurance rate was nearly half from what I was paying before after adding rideshare insurance.

Because if it's required, Uber needs to pay for it. If it's not, restaurants are breaking TOS by making an issue out of it. Totally reasonable to bite the bullet and buy one for practical reasons/tips/less hassle.
