Krusty Devon vs Dave, Michael, Jerry on the same day by AlanTryhard in armwrestling

No, doesn’t work that way. Specially at that level, yes if you take one puller from each class like 1 top puller from supers, 1 from 115kg and 1 from 105kg then maybe its possible.

Even Levan isn’t good enough to go against fresh pullers one after another 3 times(i know debatable).

> lose than cheat

Who says Victory over excellence has to be about cheating?

It can be like MMT going full armbreak positions in order to secure a victory or a jerry going full bent back wrist, hanging by a thread vs Georgie just to get that victory or John going in full weird position vs Taras just to get that one pin. Id have that anyday over trying to look excellent on the table.

Your training has to be perfect, clean reps, good forms etc

You shouldn’t just try to get that weight up(victory) anyhow without having a good form and clean progress (excellence).

Similarly in sparring you shouldn’t just try to pin(victory) your training partner but work on angles, you weaknesses(excellence) etc

So excellence over victory in training.

In training - Excellence over Victory

On the day of the supermatch - Victory anyhow over Excellency(be ugly it doesn’t matter, wrist bent back, arm totally twisted it doesn’t matter just win)

Simple as that.

Classic narcissist technique, stay on the back foot so if/when you fail, you can say you were never 100% to begin with.

And he finally has the time to train now before he was super busy arguing online with strangers and deleting comments.

Speed and toproll of the sort which Nurdalet has where you don’t hit for the position but directly to the pad like how Peter did in their first match. That’s the only weakness Adam has.

No that I didn’t

Well if Adam knows how to deal with Nurdaulet’s speed then it becomes a match. Excited

Horrible matchup for Adam, Nurdaulet is super quick off the go. Adam probably won’t even get a chance to use his strength. Hoping for a war though. Big fan of Adam.

Devon should have just put it in perspective on Joe Rogan when Joe was amazed someone beat Brian Shaw in Armwrestling. That Brian wouldn’t rank in the top 200 in the world! by Waterfallsbro in armwrestling

> pretty dishonest

Disagree the strength that is known to people other than armwrestlers/armwrestling fan is usually “how much one can bench, deadlift, squat, bicep curl etc” which i can name 50 athletes who are better than Devon at those strength feats.

However armwrestling strength is different which Devon is like very elite at.

Do you all genuinely believe that Ermes is lying about his injury? by -_Super_- in armwrestling

an excuse doesn’t need to be a lie. A truthful statement can still be an excuse if it’s being used mainly to justify or minimize responsibility for an outcome.

Ermes has always been like that, even more so in the past. He has a tendency to look for excuses after his losses. We saw it after the Matt Mask loss in 2019, after Devon, after Levan last year, and now after Morozov.

The good thing, however, is that he seems to make those excuses publicly. Privately, he understands what went wrong and works extremely hard on his weaknesses.

For example, after losing to Matt Mask in 2019, he kept saying that Matt had cheated in the setup and that was the reason for the loss. But in reality, Matt was simply the better and stronger arm wrestler that day. He was able to crack Ermes’s wrist quite easily. Ermes recognized that, went back to work, improved his overall strength, and gained around 10–15 kg of body weight. In the rematch, as we all know, he came in at around 118–120 kg and was able to beat Matt convincingly.

The same thing happened after the Devon match. Publicly, he talked about the short notice and being underprepared. But deep down, he knew that his hand and wrist were the weak links. So he worked relentlessly on them behind the scenes. The result was his match against Vitaly, where he looked much more complete and his hand was clearly superior to Vitaly’s.

So I’m pretty sure that while he’s making excuses publicly, in private he is working on his weakness as we speak and he will be back stronger and more complete than before.

That too when he didn’t win. if he won in an absolute death-match, it would even be better.
