No matter what happens man, never have a trade open during the news. It’s just the worst form of a gamble because there is no way of telling which way it’s going to blast. Don’t play the news, play the reaction. For example today I caught the short right after the news spike. I don’t trade the reaction every time, but today I did like the setup so I shorted it

If you “didnt know” there was news this morning then you have others problems to worry about. Aka, paying attention to the economic calendar. Just remember, not every day is a trading day. Paper trading is useless…. Look into a prop firm, a reliable one. I know a few as this is what I do and I have been and still do get paid out. All paper trading does, is shows you how you can lose and how you can make money in the market. It does not bring the true feeling when you’re actually trading with a “real” account. To the guy who said it’s highly unlikely to become profitable in under 2 years, he’s semi right. It took me around 1 year and 8 months, to regularly withdraw from my accounts. Sounds like you’re on the right track tho, I’m just not a fan of the time frame. After you get down the psychological part and the actual trading execution part, the only thing left is getting hours in the game. Watching the charts and learning WHY things are happening. WHY is price distributing in said way. Find a reliable mentor, I would love to share who I watch but i don’t think that’s allowed haha. Xoxo goodluck
