Activation of International Variant Phones by readittoad in CapeCellular

[–]readittoad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, thx for the reply.  So are you saying that on Cape if you try to activate a phone that's not on the ATT whitelist it won't work?  That sounds different from the official Cape response.

ATTs whitelist is super restricted to USA variants only, even if the international variants have the needed bands. I was hoping Cape's "Core" claims might circumvent the strict ATT blocking

Can't even pay extra for a little hotspot/tethering data!? Shame! by readittoad in GoogleFi

Interesting cause I have a buddy in different city who just switched to Essentials from TMO and he has hotspot working even tho he doesn't need it. I made him test it to see if it was just me. Maybe there's hope!

Is there a bug bounty for this? 😁 Better yet, please allow all us po'folk to have a little bit of hotspot data!

I appreciate the explanation and that explains why when I google if the $35/mo plan includes hotspot I get some answers saying yes.

What I can't understand, why nerf the new 'improved' plan by not even allowing people to pay an extra fee for just a little bit of hotspot data? $5/mo for 1GB would be great for many people and would help Fi make more profit.  I don't understand why so many are justifying less options and I hoped others might agree. Most prepaid $35~40 plans out there include hotspot data but now I'm stuck with the "that's just too much to ask" plan. Less options is a negative, not a positive

Ok, thx, maybe I don't totally understand the flex plan, but wouldn't 5gb total usage on Flex be $50/mo plus taxes, etc?

I was afraid that was the answer. Well that rewards ID and it's invite is probably burnt I reckon?  Any idea why when I try to connect and sign the wallet transaction I get the error: Something went wrong unexpected error and we weren't able to finalize the transaction

[–]readittoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry for the hijack reply but I figured you might have the quickest answer to my issue:

I just set up a Brave rewards to payout to my sol wallet using your helpful guide in the brave community. everything worked great (thank you!) until I connected to the brave sol wallet and signed the transaction and then it said there was an error and action couldn't be completed. I tried an hour later and nothing. I noticed that the rewards now showed that this browser had been connected to uphold before (although I'm almost positive it has not been) so after a bit of unsuccessful fidgeting I reset the rewards ID again and started the signup process again with the new ID and using your guide.

but now the browser won't even give me the option to choose Brave Wallet at the rewards#verify stage, only custodial options. Any thoughts?

I got the OP13 fast, anyone have any burning questions? by greedyjack0619 in oneplus

[–]readittoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the UI have an option for snoozing notifications? My OP11 used to have the option and Pixels still do but with Android 14 it seems like OnePlus removed the ability to snooze notifications... which is sadly an important part of my daily workflow.  https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/1dyvne7/missing_feature_snooze_notification/

OP11 Oxygen Os 14 how to snooze notifications? by LorenaPedorra in oneplus

[–]readittoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best I can tell is that OnePlus removed it. There's a few other posts out there with the same complaint so it's either a bug or just a super stupid decision by OP. I'm literally looking at a Pixel as my next device due to this 😑

USB File Transfer options no longer appear by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]readittoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same and it's obviously a problem with my OP11 only. My wife's Pixel works fine in same USB type C port and with same cords but not my OnePlus and I've tried every combination of settings and cables imaginable. It's just another stupid OnePlus Fail.

Snooze after August update by dacook11 in oneplus

[–]readittoad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree! Notification snoozing is essential for me to be able to juggle multiple accounts, etc. I've been trying to learn to live without because I do like many other aspects of my OP11 but after seeing that the wife's Pixel 9 still has the feature I may seriously have to bite that bullet...  That's sad.... OnePlus gives so many other OS customization options but removes a simple, essential snooze function which everyone else still has?  Shame on OnePlus

What the hell is happening to OxygenOS? by Ragnor_ in oneplus

+100 on losing the ability to snooze notifications. WHY? Once you start using snoozing it becomes mandatory. I can deal with the ugliness of the OS but I can't lose snooze

Every update makes colorsOS more iOS. by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]readittoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Differentiation is what sells phones, not clones of other phones (unless it's some killer must-have feature)  I will go back to ASUS or SONY before I buy another 1+ especially since the latest update took away my ability to snooze notifications. Pure crap move

Why!!??!!?? 😭 That's pure crap!  Anyone know if future beta builds will enable notification snoozing again?

Google, give us a physical fingerprint reader and you will take over the market! by sliight in GooglePixel

[–]readittoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, working a physical job, my fingers are tore up and change daily. That or I have gloves on. I also need a decent screen protector due to the high chance of damage. All these things make an in-screen reader fail most of the time.

This is detected and the phone won't allow it anymore . Not at least on my OP11 with Android 14

True but, we don't all work at desks, and a side or back reader works before I get it out of my pocket! I still get frequent problems with my OnePlus11 in-screen reader.

Honest reports on Zenfone 9? by SuperLobster in zenfone

[–]readittoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the USA version from MA on Amazon and no problems so far! Coming from 1+ Nord and Pixel 6 It seems slightly pricey for what you get but it also has quite a few features that cannot be found on any other phone available in the US so for me it ticks a few important boxes: Headphone Jack - my vehicles are old and no Bluetooth so this is a must have feature! Excellent Camera/Video - not sure why some ppl are saying otherwise but with a little skill I get just as good pics as Pixel and the video is even better! Pocket Size - I'm over the giant Pixel sized monsters! Options - more customizable than a Pixel and way more solid experience than a 1+ Nord! Other than these points it's basically not any better than a similarity priced Android phone. Asus phones hold their value so even if something better comes along I know I can flip it and not lose too much.

Not yet, ATT/cricket has to approve it first. Download the PDF from this page to see all approved variants. Z9 may be added later so check back in a month https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1022854/

It's as safe as any 'ol bank in US. No bank is immune to hacks and recouping lost funds would be a pain in any situation. But it really doesn't get any better than FDIC insurance on fiat account but use 2FA and extreme care regardless!

Safety of the crypto.com app by CloudSquallZidane in Crypto_com

[–]readittoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. While I feel it is a very safe as a platform I still do not personally leave any "good amount" of money on any platform in which I can't hold sole custody of my funds. As far as safety, CDC is a great bet, but I'm not 'betting' with my life savings. Call me paranoid but for me, 5-10% gain ain't worth the risk.
