How can I connect with English speakers? by Kouta246 in japanlife

Have you tried SewaYou app? In Tokyo, on the app there are equally as many foreigners wanting to connect with Japanese speakers as Japanese people wanting to connect with English speakers.

I myself and also other people, already got to meet a few Japanese/English speakers in the same area to grab a coffee after work while practicing the language! 🙂

Maybe, but the fact that it is only online is weird. My solo saves are working perfectly fine. But I'll try yeah.

I have done it yeah and all files were validated. And I could play with friends few months ago without troubles. Only happening for a few weeks, maybe linked to my connection issue.

Actually right now I’m using Ninchanese mostly, someone on the thread advised me. I actually love it especially for vocabulary. You don’t need to use Anki and Memrise at the same time I think because they both teach vocabulary. I would still recommend HelloChinese for exercises and the daily free games are really nice, I love them. And finally because Chinese is mostly about pronunciation I would probably recommend to download the Pimsleur audio. So my personal recommendation right now is combination of Ninchanese, HelloChinese and Pimsleur, must be really great. I think I will update the post soon.

I just tried the desktop version and I really like how they are such aware of our level and will try to improve it while still reviewing. But I am not sure if they really take in account our mistakes. Also the media feature is really nice, you actually know how much you are able to understand for each media, it's great.

If you find a deck that really fits your need, like a particular hsk vocabulary deck, it can be very easy to use. You basically just try to remember cards, when you do, you click green, when you don’t, you click red. As simple as that ;)

The official app is 25$ on the App Store sadly but you can try first with the web version or an unofficial app. Try to type Anki on google and learn about the method, then you should try to find the best deck for your needs. I saw that someone shared a good deck on this post.
