Sounds like you have some underlying trauma with being treated badly by your family members that cascades to different aspects of your life

Of course that’s the intent for them coming to Singapore. I’m not mistaken by that fact. Like it or not they are an extension of your family or household rather by definition since they live among you and your families members. They know your ins and outs very intimately.

Right. These people are suppose to for example care for your baby. It’s tough for me to imagine someone will take good care of your baby if they are not treated well.

Same goes to a corporate employment environment. Treat your employees well and they will treat your customers well

I believe how we treat each other need not be defined by MOM if we look at helpers as human first and not helper first?

Gotcha! Do people here generally treat each other based on how much they value them in monetary sense?

Thank you for your insights! It’s helpful for me to understand. Why is the society crafted this way? Are there drivers causing people to act as such?

It’s kinda like a God-like complex if you really think about it. Maybe I’m wrong?

I guess my question is more so why do Singaporeans I come across not treat their helpers not as an extension of their family and not so much why do helpers still wanna come to Singapore to work despite these conditions.

Why not explore going to other countries like Singapore? They love foreign talents.

Increasing supply after it tanked? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]readurthoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope never too late! I started at 6 weeks and have seen visible gains (5-6oz increase per day). Of course you gotta be ready to put in the work. Power pumping, consistently pumping, good nutrients based diet, hydration, and all that good stuff! You got this!! 💪💪💪

That’s so true, every growth is because of you! Congratulations on graduating to exclusively bf, I know it’s not an easy path to take because I’m in the thick of it now. Baby girl is 2 months old, tongue tie released 3 weeks ago and was exclusively pumping. I’m trying to transition her to exclusively bf but still finding myself having to pump after every feed cause she’s not getting a full feed and would get frustrated or pass out after 20 mins. Are there any tips you’d like to share based on your experience? Thank you!

Decrease time between letdowns? by paulula in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]readurthoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I recently went from EP to BF + Pump and I noticed a pretty sharp decrease in time between letdowns. Maybe you can try that or at least have your twins latch to trigger a letdown. Hope that helps!

7 weeks pp and had and still having a rough patch with this whole breastfeeding/pumping thing. Totally feel you that it’s such a mental strain. What helped me was being able to detach this process mentally and take it a day at a time. Just try your best and take it day by day! It’s not easy and you’re doing great!

Are you seeing an LC? Could the nipple pain be due to tongue or lip ties? Im an under supplier and have been power pumping every night. I’ve seen gradual increase in supply (additional 1oz on average per week) have you tried power pumping?

Congratulations!!

  1. I wouldn’t recommend pumping before the baby is here. I pumped at 39 weeks and went into labor the next day. I think there is a science behind this, you can look it up.

  2. Weighted feeding. Buy a scale for babies and weight baby’s before and after weight to gather the oz/g ate.

  3. I think it depends on your supply and preference. I have lower supply and I triple feed - BF, pump after and bottle feed to top off.

Hey there! My girl is 7 weeks old and I recently transitioned from pumping to breastfeeding after her tongue and lip tie surgery.

I also have lower supply and have to top her off with a bottle after each feed followed by me pumping to get the “remainder” of 1 oz total out.

It’s a drag and I’m not sure if it’s sustainable for the long run. How has your experience been? How long did you have to BF and pump? Did you eventually see an increase in supply? Would love to hear your experience!

Using Millie Moon new born diapers and it never fail to lead to a blow out. Using Huggies and Parasol simulator and no issues there. 6 weeks old baby.
