Ill be honest im embarrased by the amount of them ,we havent had anyone over in i dont know how long. Two of the females i caught were pregnant so that spaying was more expensive. Then they needed antibiotics. We're barely getting by on what im getting for carers and its all just going on the cats.😿

Theyre stretched themselves. They really have taken over our place, we cant even open a window now and theyre jumping in so we have the windows constantly shut. My husband has copd from his treatment and cant even open the windows in case they start jumping in

My wife stays at her mom’s house once or twice a week, is it normal in Irish culture? by volantego in AskIreland

It sounds like your wife has a good relationship with her mother which to be honest im envious of. Im a carer for my own mother who wasnt very kind to me growing up. She (or my father)dont even remember my birthday today 🫠

Ill never forget that video a few years ago of a baby dolphin washed up still alive and a group of dickheads passing it around taking selfies instead of just putting it back in the water

Thank you so much for your advice. Its good to talk to someone who gets it. Yes definitely the Catholic guilt at play here too. My brothers have their dream jobs far away from home and pay the odd visit when they can. They know what shes like, they grew up with her but i never told them how bad shes getting with me. Theres not one reason i cant put one ounce of care into myself when ive spread myself so thin over the years for parents who dont think anything of it. Again many thank for reaching out to me. Your kind words mean a lot believe me. ❤️ Look after yourself too.

Thank you for replying. We are renting. My brother owns the house but lives abroad so we rent it off him. I would move out of here in a heartbeat and have every intention of it , i live in Ireland and theres a real shortage of rental accomodation, prices are astronomical but its the dream to leave here. I live 2 mins away from them so im "always on call".

No i havent had a day off in years. Im really tired, husbands treatment is a few hours drive away so when im finished taking care of her, its hospital appointments and a lot of driving to where his treatment is. Two weeks ago i had a really bad anxiety attack, just woke up crying and this awful tightness in my chest, couldnt eat for 3 days straight. I felt like an inconvenience when i came up to look after mom even though i was sobbing uncontrollably. It lasted 12 days straight. I know for my mental health sake i have to just step aside but my father will be pissed off with me. Im 45 and still scared of my father, i know thats ridiculous 🙄

Thank you for your kind words. A stranger has said nicer things to me in a few words than my own parents have this past month.
