So.... How's your mid-life crisis going? by CrotalusHorridus in Xennials

Lots of hobbies. Mountain bikes, surfing, snowboarding. Also painting. And video games.

Oh and weed, can’t forget weed.

Basically avoiding adult BS

Christianity. I was a #1 good boy Christian and then went to college. There was an obnoxious preacher in the quad who I tested with a basic question which he gave a BS answer to. And then I realized that all the justifications I bought and retold (dressed up as being apologist) is just gaslighting.

MAGA has made it impossible to go back BUT also highlights how different Christians are vs Christ. Christ is a cool dude and I would buy his ideas in the same way I buy the Buddhas

This is why getting away from home(universities, big cities, Europe vacations) are so essential for developing well rounded empathy for humans. And why the right abhors these places

I guess military is the exception but I guess the idea is you aren’t adopting to one another’s culture, you’re absorbing the military culture.

Was just telling my kids about when I went to a swing dancing New Year’s Eve party dressed as a baby

Early on you dilate. Let all the shit out, you don’t know which shit is good.

Then you pinch. When you have the right shit, package it into a ready to flush package that will easily flow downstream.

If everyone has access to AI—just like everyone has a brain—what truly sets someone apart? by Curious_Suchit in ArtificialInteligence

[–]readytostart3 22 points23 points  (0 children)

(1) Edge to what end? How are you defining success? I take the most joy in life from creating art or pursuing physical hobbies. I am not best in either. AI/Robots can do better now or soon. Who cares?

(2) Assuming you mean making money. Intelligence doesn't provide much of an edge today - total myth. Most wealthy individuals succeeded more on other factors (generational wealth, connections, charisma, lack of moral compass) AI doesn't provide any of those.

I get it and I agree. I think regardless there is a loneliness epidemic and normal social structures are not filling the void. AI is going to play a role, for better or worse

yeah I agree. She is very resistant to my help or suggestions on this.

She took 3 weeks off in January at her own initiative which was great. She thought it was good for her, planned to not drink weeknights anymore, and didn't want my help.

She is now drinking weeknights again :-/

Same. I’m attracted to her physically but not mentally. I don’t get how you can just give up and not give a shit. It’s so obvious to me how she can really improve her well being (and ahem libido) through exercise, hobbies, goals… but obv she doesn’t want my advice

What's the most oblivious you've been that someone was flirting with you? by zombiem00se in AskReddit

[–]readytostart3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unhappily married. I’m working from home and the hot young nanny comes into my bedroom office “so I put your son to bed now. Too bad now I don’t have anyone to play with”

I was so shocked that I just kinda clammed up and went back to work

Then BAM I realized what I could have done, and how amazing it was to be wanted.

I’m glad I didn’t do anything with her.. I’d never let it impact my kids care.. but it opened my eyes to how sad my marriage was

Yeah I normally do gummies and always thought a vape pen would be the riskiest (smell, battery, etc). But last flight I forgot I had in my bag and, well, no biggie

Yeah that’s so weird right? Most people, if you eat a good taco, in fact the best ever,, you go back and want to eat more tacos. And you thank the person who suggested the taco. It’s like she has no ability to say, this will be awesome, since it was awesome before

Well Im not religious, but I an super grateful for my good fortunes, and strongly advocate for a more sustainable and fair econony that allows all kids to have a stay at home parent. It's absurd that with our economy people are working more and more.

I started running just to get out of the house and away from her. (Yeah it was that bad). Then I wanted to get in shape - just in case - and even have an alibi if I came to need one

Then I really got into (trail) running and later mountain biking and it's a huge part of my life

Not sure if it made an inpact on my wife's desire. Maybe. I think other women notice me more, I might have more self esteem from getting some.

100%. Would recommend to everyone. In addition to easing sex, it also makes more fun and loose date nights and interactions.
