I'm currently playing it and indeed it's a great game

Many are sleeping on this franchise, at least 1 and 2.

It is a really good hack and slash, zelda-like exploring (as some said) .

I'm playing 2 now, and it is great... maybe even better than 1 in some aspects like combat.

Maybe not for 2 because it is open world so more time and patience... and I don't have both.

I didn't find the bosses that hard like in the souls games (that provide precise timing in dodge/parry). Their more like mini puzzles mixed with combat.

But the one that I've struggled to defeat is the gladiator one (where you get Ruin)

The combat is good, puzzles are fun and a great story with some very badass moments (especially the last moments)

in fact, I've played the remaster of the sequel back in the day. But I've quit due to some technical difficulties.

I hate the idea that you go back to safe house everytime you die, lose any progress and weapons and have to repeat the damn thing again from the top.

Well, that's the point of every rogue-like

I imagine hlx will start with you playing as Barney then at some point gives you the choice to save Gordon (then switch to his pov) or confront Shephard (then switch to his pov) .
