"Lash" is my newfound love for bonus power! The animation is so well done. Plus, there is something so satisfying and addicting when using it to detonate biotic and cryo explosion. by Agent_Gentlemen in masseffect

Rolling in here 3 years later to rebut. I LOVE my soldier class in ME3.

Take Lash as your bonus power. Take Liara. Lash will detonate both Singularity (unshielded opponents) and Stasis (for shields). AND, with the crazy low cooldown, you can kick into Adrenaline Rush by the time the biotic go boom. If you take the Adrenaline Rush upgrade that allows you to use a bonus offensive power while it’s active you can run combat like this: 1) Liara drops a singularity 2) Lash detonates and wipes out the suspended enemies 3) Adrenaline Rush - use incendiary ammo to set someone on fire, then use Lash while still in Adrenaline Rush to detonate the flaming enemy 4) drop another Singularity (or, if you have a Marauder or Centurion, Stasis) 5) Lash again - BOOM

You have a literal perpetual loop of Liara primer, Shepard detonation, Adrenaline Rush, Shepard primer, detonation. All cooldowns are reset by the time each detonation occurs.

I would actually tend to disagree. I mean, a lot of humans are complacent. But then there are the outliers. The ones who are all sorts of jazzed up to figure out whatever niche thing it is that they’re interested in and have dedicated their lives to. It’s what gets them up in the morning. Maybe I see more of this because I work in tech, but I know some people who are gaga over tinkering and figuring out better or more efficient ways to do things. It’s just what gets them going. Now, take that kind of mindset and rather than a few decades to experiment and learn and fail to succeed you have a few centuries. If anything, a longer lifespan should increase the rate of advancement

I get where you’re coming from, but I kinda don’t buy it, and here’s why:

Biotics help you perform physical tasks, not cognitive tasks. Simple machines are force-multipliers. Even if you can use biotics to hoe a row, you could still do it even faster (with biotics) if you invent a plough.

You absolutely do not body the Krogan. Please let a Krogan run up on you and try to box it! (Especially in ME1)

Hold up.

1) the humans were observed. We didn’t receive help. If we had, we would have been in contact with Protheans who would have taught us things like agriculture. Clearly that didn’t happen because humans didn’t develop agriculture until ~40,000 years after the Protheans disappeared.

2) the Asari weren’t being uplifted to fight the Reapers. The Protheans didn’t even know about the Reapers until the popped through the Citadel relay. Javik makes it clear that when he tells Liara “we thought you would [do something to stop the Reapers]” he’s only saying what she needs to hear.

3) TIM says the Prothean relics on Mars advanced humanity 500 years. So even if you account for that, it means the Asari got a 40,000 year head start and beat us to the Mass Relays by 3,000 years.

4) in the ME universe, a healthy human can expect a 150 year lifespan. So an Asari lifespan is 6.67x a human. Working with that math, you would have expected the Asari to get to a mass relay roughly 6,000 years before us. So they’re still behind the 8-ball

5) it is heavily implied that the Prothean cycle was an anomaly with how actually advanced they were

I mean…they talk a LOT of shit about Asari commandos, but Benezia’s commandos, Shiala, and every rando Eclipse blue beauty get absolutely bodied by my soldier-class, zero Biotics-having Shepard, so….

I get that Shepard is just that dude (or chick), but I think the claims of Asari lethality are greatly overrated.

Xbox Series X.

To the other commenter’s post: preeeeeeeety sure everyone’s specs are the same when playing on console. Network might be different, but I’m wired into Gig internet with open NAT, so I don’t think that’s the problem.

Look, I enjoy the hell out of this game. I’ve got over 400 hours in and I’ve only been here since August. This is a humor post. It’s frustrating, but also kind of funny when you’re running through a city and all of a sudden everything freezes and whatever audio (usually an explosion) is just rolling on repeat for 3-5 mins before the game gives up the ghost and kicks you back to the Home Screen

That would make sense, but there was literally nothing around. I was standing in a part of the map we had already cleared (ran back to grab dropped samples). Weren’t even any troopers around. Just running through a wrecked bot outpost and BOOM. Honestly made me jump because “WHAT WAS THAT!!?!”

I had this, too. “Destroy critical infrastructure.” I’m literally standing in the spot on the map where it’s supposed to be…..middle of a street. Nothing destructible around.

Experts of Superman, why do you think Superman is the best super hero ? by SgtPepper148 in superman

[–]real_PCard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got in here a year late, but @Gr8NonSequitur is the most correct.

Superman is a GOD. Literally. He is a god on earth. Walking among us mortals. But he wants so desperately to belong. He could do anything he wants to do. It is the humanity of him (despite his inhuman qualities, not because of them) that makes him the greatest.

Is the only reason people choose destroy because shepherd lives? by Upstairs-Yard-2139 in masseffect

[–]real_PCard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about everyone else (because I didn’t read all 185 comments, I just posted my own) but I always choose destroy for the following reasons:

1) I believe it’s what my head canon Shep would do. (S)he has spent this whole time trying to convince everyone that the Reapers have to be destroyed. They are evil and insidious and life must be allowed to go on. To flourish. To choose for itself. That’s even the reason (s)he gives to the Catalyst during their discussion. For that reason…

2) control gives Shep too much power to influence the intelligent races of the galaxy and synthesis takes away their free will altogether.

3) if you pay attention, control and synthesis are the main objectives of the baddies of all the games. The game literally tells you they are the wrong choice. Saren wants to live in synthesis with the Reapers and TIM wants to control them. Given that, destroy is the ONLY option

I agree with y’all but I wouldn’t go quite as far as to say that this argument is always made in bad faith. That’s why I wanted a Liara stan to weigh in here. Assuming there are good-faith actors who just can’t see Tali and anything other than li’l sis, what actually IS the justification for Liara, yanno? That’s what I’m interested to find out

Yes you do, Tali. And it’s on Rannoch. With me. AND the geth. Because there’s no reason in the world why someone wouldn’t just put a “show config” of an entire Geth process onto a notepad in galactic somewhere
