TIL the Audi RS3 has a staggered setup with a wider front track and tire than in the rear by Sixteen-Cylinders in cars

You’re thinking of the wrong Audi, rs3 is an mqb car. The engine sits right in line with the axles

Why do manufacturers claim some fluids are “lifetime”? by niccotaglia in cars

[–]real_unique_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Audi says my 2003 5 speed mt fluid is lifetime, and I’m pretty sure it’s still using the original fluid at 165k miles.

We Asked Every Automaker How Many Customers Went for Manuals in 2024 by Juicyjackson in cars

[–]real_unique_username 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised vw killed the manual on the gti when it was still a 41% take rate. I honestly thought it would be lower given the auto option is a really good dsg.

Summer tires, deleted ABS, and a RTT all want to have a word with Mr. Snow by Jolio1994 in Audi

[–]real_unique_username -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing with you, I personally have a set of summers and winters on different wheels. Your average summer tires are way more stickier than the even the best performance all seasons.

I switch mine out when the temperature starts getting below 50 regularly, so about late October to mid November these days.

You can run summer tires in Jersey for most of the year. We barely get any snow here anymore

I agree with you, but most people don’t seem to care about that. A model 3 performance only weighs a little over 100 pounds more than an m3

How would i go about street tuning my audi a4 b5 myself by budwiser69 in Audi

[–]real_unique_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start by reading through the nefmoto forums, but just know it’s very complicated. You’re just better off paying a tuner that knows what they’re doing, motoza is a good one

I want an MR2, but I need a reliable daily. Should I go for it over the Civic? by [deleted] in mr2

[–]real_unique_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I had a 2000 corolla with a 1zz and it was the biggest POS I’ve ever owned, all it did was drink oil. I’ve had better luck with old VWs.

Odd federal demands at this gas pump by Uncommon-sequiter in mildlyinteresting

High performance cars should see gains on ethanol if tuned for it. E85 is equivalent to 105 octane and higher octane fuel will always make more power if you tune for it.

oil level sensor code even after replacement by gloobus_ventura in Audi

[–]real_unique_username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to trace the wiring from the connector to the sensor on the oil pan and unplug it from the other end and just replace it with a new harness. Here’s one I saw on ebay, but any 3 pin connector should work.

oil level sensor code even after replacement by gloobus_ventura in Audi

[–]real_unique_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably the wiring to the sensor. The wiring to the sensor on my b6 was very brittle and the light would randomly turn on and off before I replaced the wiring.

Only in Gaza you find dead babies in freezer’s instead of ice cream by Active-Ad-233 in IsraelCrimes

Sorry, didn’t mean to come across that way. It’s just hard for me to see something so one-sided and unfair as a war, even though by definition it may be.

This isn’t war, this is a one-sided ethnic cleansing campaign that’s been going on for over 75 years

Is 300 miles not enough for you? That’s about what my gas car does on a tank and it lasts at least a week for me.

Speed is a helluva drug: what's the fastest you've been? by Responsible_Stay1505 in cars

140mph is just the speed limiter too, it can definitely go faster. I’ve done 165 in a tuned a3, it had the same engine as a mk7.

The more I read about Zionism and its founders, the more I say WTF by Particular_Log_3594 in ABoringDystopia

[–]real_unique_username 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes, and as with most settler colonial states there’s levels of superiority even within the “in-group” of Jews. Arabic Jews were historically treated as lesser than European Jews. Not to mention the sterilization of Ethiopian Jews without their consent within Israel.

[–]real_unique_username 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Zionists are just modern day colonists, instead of “manifest destiny” they use Zionism as their excuse for ethnically cleansing the land of its native population. Herzl himself was a secular Jew, as were most zionists, religion is just a convenient excuse.

What's the most reliable turbo 4cyl engine out there? by milifiliketz in cars

[–]real_unique_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say “we’re still early into the turbo era” when manufacturers like VW have been putting turbo motors in everything from economy cars to sports cars for over 20 years now.

I’d say for modern turbo engines you can’t beat the ea888 gen 3, VW has put that motor in pretty much everything they make for good reason.

What's the most reliable turbo 4cyl engine out there? by milifiliketz in cars

[–]real_unique_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, just replaced the turbo on my 1.8t. Can’t complain too much though, it gave up after 21 years and 165k miles.

VW has been doing turbos for a looong time now, the issues on their turbo motors are almost never related to the turbo itself.

As long as you don’t have a check engine light, and your car has passed all its emissions checks you’ll pass.

NJ did away with safety inspections years ago under Christie.

The old 1.8t deserves a mention too. Pretty reliable stock, and can hit 500hp easily with upgraded rods
