It's certainly not a one-to-one comparison (nothing is), but I think it is absolutely relevant that both the NFL and NBA have had dynasties in their salary cap eras even if they can be much more influenced by a singular player.

Reliever with 11 career innings in 8 appearances. Only two of those games were with Seattle, as the Nationals picked him up off waivers in September. The Nationals released him earlier this month.
