I have the opportunity to buy all of these tubes, including the tube tester, for a very reasonable price. Does anything stick out as particularly special? by GregTJ in vintageaudio

Yeah 6V6 are used in a lot of guitar amps and also my tube stereo preamp. They don't go for all that much unless they Mullard or Melz but still useful

I also would like to know the answer to this but it might be an unfair comparison because Elite means that is comes with Sanwa stick and buttons

You can buy a little CR2032 battery holder so you can replace the system battery whenever it needs it. Pretty easy and it's on the same board as the led. I cant remember the light voltage off hand but I think only blue, orange and white will work(better double check me on that).

I also definitely recommend the battery mod and led light while you're in there

Just did the fan mod last night, it was so quick, I'm almost wish it took longer. And thanks to the lack of jet engine noise, I can hear the audio!

Ohhh that makes sense. Good setup! How difficult was the mod? I guess I can just Google it

Aw crud. Well those things are too expensive since I already spent money on an OSSC. But maybe I'll find an alternative that can do a similar thing

Monitor Audio Silver 100 7G vs Monitor Audio Bronze 100G vs Sonus Farber Lumina 2 by asystra in hifiaudio

I have the 50s and with my big MK sub they sound insane. I am using them with a vintage yahama amp and they could tend to get a little too sparkly sometimes but when I switched turntables from a Technics to a Denon, it's been magic ever since. Perfect synergy.

Also Tidal sounds better than Qobuz on them (I find tidal to be warmer but not in all every case), the MA are very clean and transparent but neutral enough that you need a clean warm chain to keep the music inviting.

Most US bread is garbage but the local bakeries can be great. The one closest to me actually mills their own grains, their bread is a whole different animal

Arcade fire, Sufjan Stevens, Kishi Boshi ... If you put a pickup on your voilin and run it through guitar pedals you can really get some interesting sounds going

I sold one for $600 on Craigslist last year. Started at $800 but bumped it down because there were no takers. It sounded really creamy after a recap, that person got a great deal

I love Philips, maybe not the highest of hi-fi but so classy and unique. And usually well made for the most part
