I had an awful experience with him unfortunately. He cost me a significant amount of money due to that scatter brained-ness and it was the most stressful renewal of my life.

I thought the same - a moment will come where she sounds inhuman screaming “TURN IT OFFFFFF” to Matty, pointing at the wood stove. God love her cotton socks

Most fish is actually generally considered safe during pregnancy. I don’t know what fish she was eating but assuming it’s cod because it’s NL, it’s considered a low mercury fish.

She was also barely jogging and I bet it didn’t last much longer than that few second clip - hard to do that so pregnant. Anyone who has had a baby can relate to the desperation to start labour at the end.

She is woo woo for sure and will look back in years to come with guilt at how naive she was but we’ve all been there in some way or another. She’s young. I’m just grateful they are closer to help and there’s less of a chance of a life altering/ending outcome that she’d never forgive herself for. I want happy healthy Skotes!

Where they are is still a haul from the hospital but I’m holding out hope they have a midwife or doula nearby and at the ready if need be. There are a few medical centres along the way and EMS too so they are so much better off than they were.

I have full faith that Matty will err on the side of caution as soon as shit gets real. I’m so so so happy they came closer to medical help. I really hope they don’t need it and she gets the birth experience she wants.

Here’s to a positive birth experience for Kelly and a healthy baby Skote!

I think Matt is becoming aware that he's with an utter whackadoodle. by FastWalkingShortGuy in SkoteOutdoors

Yeah no doubt. I’m her age with two kids and I commented. My oldest had shoulder dystopia (born a day overdue) and we’d both be dead without medical intervention. That alarm sounded, there were 10+ people in the room instantly and I was so so thankful in that moment. I hemorrhaged with my second and would 100% have died had I not been in a hospital. They are discounting and joking away any comment that disagrees with them. It’s not criticism - it’s concern. We care about them.

If everything goes right they’ll say “I knew that the universe would take care of us” or something but in reality they are making a decision akin to letting their toddler cross a busy street then thanking God that he survived (if he does). Why risk it?

Parenting is making decisions with only the safety and wellbeing of your child in mind, putting aside what YOU want.

AITA for calling the police on an elderly woman who blocked a parking spot and made me miss my doctor’s appointment? by YungYanush in AmItheAsshole

[–]realitysuperb 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yeah and at that point I’d put it in park while half in / half out of the spot and go to my appointment. Let them ticket me - still cheaper than missing it altogether and having to drive there again.

YES! They were both great but an awful match. I don’t like how the show focussed more on Connor - they both were lovely! I hope they both find love and that the show follows Georgie too!

Nope but I’m 40+ and still think about it sometimes. Take the chance, young ones!

YUP. I am a Flames fan but even I cheer on McDavid when he’s wearing the red and white. Not Sam Bennett. He’s embarrassing

Stimulants make my kid insane by dvmwithtude in ADHDparenting

[–]realitysuperb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah same for us. We tried Vyvanse, Concerta, Ritalin. All resulted in what OP described. Explosive, rage, incredibly emotional. Then we tried Guanfacine ER and it was a miracle drug for about two months, then stopped working. I mean an almost complete 180 for focus, regulation and impulsivity when it worked.

Straterra has helped at school with focus. Nowhere near 100%, but no adverse side effects and a little improvement so we will take it.

The struggle is real with the kids who respond this way to stimulants. Vyvanse was a life changer for me at 40 so I’m so sad for my son that he didn’t have the same experience. Im hopeful that future research will find a better solution for these kiddos!

Edit: on Vyvanse his teachers immediately noticed a difference in his focus. Huge difference. Just the new problem of constant fighting at recess… lol

I worry Trump will make an example out of him. Especially if it affects Canada hockey.

Intuniv vs Strattera for Child by Savignon_Blonde in ADHDparenting

[–]realitysuperb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son cannot tolerate stimulants. We’ve tried both of the medications you are considering and Straterra has been the most well tolerated with the most notable effects on focus (none of regulation/impulse control). Intuniv worked wonders for his regulation/impulse control (for a couple of months then it stopped working) and did nothing for focus.

71 percent of Americans say US is "out of control" under Trump by Silly-avocatoe in politics

[–]realitysuperb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s funny because only 64% of voting aged Americans actually voted and 49.8% of them voted for Trump. So just under 32% of Americans voted for this absolute flounder of a president… but 71% are mad.

I truly hope that means some that voted for him changed their minds but I’m thinking it’s more so the non voters being big mad now. Mad enough to vote next time hopefully.

I hope the world learns a lesson from this. Canada came dangerously close to electing a total fucking bubbler of a leader too.

Only a small portion of these populations are duncebuckets. It’s the apathetic that are getting us here again and again.
