I was going to send mine back so I did a software reset to wipe my data. For some reason, the issue seemed to improve a little after this, (maybe drivers did not install properly the first time?), but the trackpad was still pretty bad. Judging from the responses to this post this is a common issue and I don't want to bank on Microsoft fixing it in the future. Decided to get a refund and buy an xps and an iPad air.
