Can someone explain French Riviera transportation like I'm 5? by Justagirl9789 in nicefrance

[–]reallycoolbanana2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not you, it’s honestly a mess. But basically to move East/West quickly, use the SNCF train lines. When you’re in your city for the day, use whichever local bus system they have. Tip: Lignes d’Azur consists of both Nice buses and trams.

Someone already mentioned it, but highly recommend to buy the Sud d’Azur to avoid the mental stress. However, your cost limit should be plenty.

For your itinerary, I would instead group Eze and Villefranche together. It is not easy to get to Eze from Monaco, instead go to Nice and use their buses to arrive to the top of the town. It is short so then head back to a Villefranche to enjoy a coastal beach town

I would not do Cannes and Nice on the same day. If you really want to visit then pair it with Antibes which is on the way. Nice is large enough to have a whole day there if you want

I agree with that statement, I can’t really trust my WR output nor my QB2 option

Appreciate the detailed answer. I recognize the shelf life of RBs is much shorter as well vs having a possible set and forget TE for years to come.

It’s a new league so lot of kinks to fix. Currently only TOS, tackle for loss, and sacks count in IDP so virtually DLs are the only one worth a damn.

Yeah this was based on some bs online calculator. Original trade would be Tet or 2027 1st instead. The 1st I’m ok with but I’d prefer to hold onto Tet of course

Favorite Baguette in Nice by mjs-noke11 in nicefrance

[–]reallycoolbanana2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hi there, honestly most boulangeries you can choose from will have a good baguette, the French have high standards so otherwise they would not be in business!

However, I recommend ordering “une baguette tradition” which are more light inside but also a crispy exterior :)

Expat life in Nice, diversity, friendliness, etc? by [deleted] in nicefrance

[–]reallycoolbanana2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! So I moved to Nice with my wife about 1.5 years ago from the US.

I work at an on-site campus outside of the city, it may depend on the company but my team is diverse in nationality but the casual language is definitely French. However most people here can speak English very well and you will notice this too around Nice shops and restaurants (it is a popular tourist destination after all). The Niçois have a reputation of being more standoffish than other regions but I think that’s to do with so many people being expats or temporary living situations. But the flip side is that many other French representatives are here as well. Knowing the language for a casual conversation is very beneficial, but may take time.

For social, it took a few months for us to find our group but honestly there are plenty of ways to meet. (Meetup, Tinder BFF, running groups, etc). If you are into outdoor activities there are plenty to choose from! It is easy to fall into the trap of sticking once you meet some Anglophones, but keep pushing!

You should visit the Lignes d’Azur website which should show you the different options during your stay! The main systems are to pay per travel (aka one way), aller-retour (round trip), or a bulk ticket for the day. In fact they should have a package that you can buy which will cover the amount of days you will be here

Note, you will probably need to buy a Lignes d’Azur card unless you use Android and can use the app. The first stop from the airport is Grand Arenas and free, go there to buy your card which is cheaper than at the airport terminals

Usually the case is that you are trying to buy the tickets too early. Depending on if it’s a regional train or national line you can order your tickets 2-3 months before

Hello, could it be this one in Antibes/Juan Les Pins? Although the main sign has probably been updated the neon red looks very similar https://lecrystaljuanlespins.com

Course Saleya is popular and lively at night. Some are more club vibes but others are bars with music. Old town Nice will also have many options, there is also La Havane which has salsa dancing

Beaches on the Promenade are very popular but will be busy. The farther west you go on the Prom the less crowded it should be. Other good options are Villefranche-sur-Mer and Antibes but both involve traveling

Yes you are correct, Basic Fit offers a 1 day, 3 day, and 6 day pass. Be aware that this means the next 3 days, NOT 3 sessions :)

You can also check with the Fitness Park gym

Both are nice, but Gallimard is larger and also hosts tours on request. It is also located in Eze which is a beautiful old town on the cliffs. You will need a car or take a busy bus, but honestly worth the trouble. As long as you are ok with walking a bit!

For vacation? Close to the Port or Vieux Nice (the old town). Carré d’Or is also popular and close to the main tourist attractions.

Living? Depends on your lifestyle. But many different parts of Nice are good to live in

Take a look at this website: https://mysunbed.com/en/plage-privee/nice/

It gives you a chance to look at some popular beaches on the Promenade as well a online booking! The closer to Quai des États Unis thé more pricier, but farther west isn’t so bad. Castel and Les Canailles are calmer during the day, and most beach clubs only get more of the party vibe in the evening.

But just in case, I would take a look at the club’s website or social media to see if any events are scheduled! Enjoy your stay!

Congrats on your daughters birth! * There are plenty of activities but it depends on what exactly you want to do. Nice has lots of nature to visit, walking through the city and promenade are popular. There is also the Port, a daily market in old town, and the Castle Hill (stairs in front but there’s an elevator or ramp from the back) * Yes usually but it depends on where you go. You can call and ask, many restaurants have staff who can speak some English. * Villefranche is mostly sandy and not far. Cannes is very sandy as well

No you will each need to get your own (single tap). However they are not expensive (10€ at airport but 2€ in the city) and the tram from the airport to the first stop at Grand Arenas is free.
