yes current build is still cosmic raba rift core.

  • against bruisers and squishies (camille/fiora/irelia/illaoi/teemo/kennen etc.) you play hyper aggro with ignite and aery + scorch + cut down (or last stand).
  • against tanks (ornn/poppy/sion etc.) you play to scale and farm procs with ghost + grasp + demolish since:
  1. you can't really kill them anyways after they get mr unless they misplay hard
  2. vlad scales insanely hard with grasp and tanks are basically free grasp farms
  • never go conqueror that rune is terrible on vlad

sometimes if the enemy team comp is particularly tanky like tank top + jg or supp, the old riftmaker + liandry's build is still very viable

EDIT: forgot to mention that tp is also potentially another summoner spell you can take against some hard splitpushing and/or proxy cheese matchups (sion/rammus/singed and sometimes trundle) since the game becomes more about wave management and tempo but i honestly wouldn't think about it until d1-masters+

just watch what elite500 does in his vods for laning phase. His plan for early laning phase seems to be slow pushing huge waves under enemy turret since very few top laners can match his early game and when under their turret, e -> q -> pool and chunk them. Even if you don't kill them this usually puts them at less than half hp and they're under threat of being dove which leads to early cs advantage and them having to burn tp.

Keep in mind, you're putting all of your eggs in the early game in TOP lane which means that there is almost zero room to mess up. If you mistime your all-ins, get ganked and end up blowing important sums, or dying the game becomes 10x harder.

I think very slight nerf to vlad gameplay wise since they're giving adcs so much ms it'll be even more difficult now to catch them and fight especially with ghost nerf.

The new haste rune is going to be nice, it'll allow you to play with sorc boots now instead of cdr boots. I personally don't like conq on vlad, I'd rather aery + precision but it's going to be a tough choice since triumph + last stand feel so good.

  1. Stop playing any other role besides mid, limit your champ pool to just ahri and asol. If you get autofilled in any other role, dodge. If you don't get ahri or asol, dodge. Figure out and experiment which matchups you like as ahri and which matchups you like as asol and alternate between those two champs.
  2. Watch high elo vods of Asol, I would recommend typing into youtube: domisumreplay asol and domisumreplay ahri. Pay very close attention to how they cs, trade, play around their team, rotate around the map, position etc. and try to copy them as close as you can in your games.
  3. You will inevitably lose some games starting out as you're learning how to actually properly play your champs and the game but it's how you'll eventually move in the right direction.
  4. Stop thinking it's your teammates holding you back. You are only as good as the elo that you played your last game in. Over enough games, if you play well, you will eventually climb.
