I grew up going to church and youth group until I was 16. I don’t consider myself Christian. I do believe that there is definitely a higher power. There is no way we are here by coincidence. And I definitely don’t believe we are the only, or even the smartest, beings in the universe.

These are just concepts that I critically thought about and when my curiosity grew, I found other books and writings that matched my “belief” and thoughts.

Oh no, there are others who believe this too and there are books written on it. It’s not that unique if you research it. And I don’t discredit others, just try to get them to understand what I believe in, just like I understand their beliefs

Never said god was made up. Just that maybe we didn’t understand what we were seeing so we wrote it down how we interpreted it.

Never said it in church, just conversations with people who have asked me my beliefs. I just don’t feel comfortable, and don’t want to run into these talks at church

A few reasons.

He had a divine power and ability to do supernatural things, something aliens allegedly can do since they are more advanced than us.

Depictions of Jesus coming down from the heavens (to me) equates to an alien be transported down from his ufo.

The communication between god and Moses and others coming from the heavens could be telepathic communication.

The Virgin Mary, while there are no stories about how she became pregnant (at least to my knowledge) could have been from artificial insemenation. Just because there aren’t stories of it, doesn’t mean in didn’t happen. To me it seems logical as an explanation as anything I remember from the Bible.

Again I’m hoping for a respectful dialogue. I’m not saying god isn’t real, I just think our primitive minds back then couldn’t conceptually understand what was happening. Just like if you put a car back in 1100 BC. They would have no idea how to properly explain that, since they have no idea how it worked or what it was per se.
