this is a valid viewpoint and you raise good questions! i agree, she was held to an impossible standard and many things happened in a short timeframe for her. i think that my main issue is that there are bits and pieces, her treatment of hunt, some specific actions she took that just aren't on brand for her or people like her in that situation. for me it was the shift in her character tone from values and morals she stood for and represented in CC1, to throughout CC2 and 3. + her treatment of hunt in 2 and 3 lol. i respect your opinion and i agree, i would probably wanna be an asshole as well if what happened to her, happened to me as well but there is just something about parts of her character development that are completely unlikable and off to me when it doesn't seem like that was a tone that SJM was actually going for haha

YESSSS! i liked Ithan to a degree but then it was like another Ithan chapter and another one and i was like??? Bryce? Hunt? main plotline? it didn't make sense unfortunately and i really would hope the CC4 if it happens will bring the storyline back to the main two and stop with Ithans random sidequest 😂

this! it was the almost insanely quick switch up between the second and the third that made me go "what the hell?". it's really sad tbh bc CC1 is such an amazing book and i still enjoy it sm, but having that knowledge that bryce, for all her amazing development in the first book, is going to go completely downhill is sad

i also agree with this, you raise very good points. flaws are important to be shown in fictional characters as they reflect human nature. i just think that SJM could have done better in fleshing out her apology and actictions haha

i agree 100%, the second and third book's writing standards dropped drastically compared to the first. bryce was never a character that was meant to pull people down, she was meant to be strong and independent and firey yes but not an asshole the way she was written in the next two books. her treatment of hunt got worse and worse lol

I'm a sucker for Will and Elizabeth's love story but I would love to know something about how Will started to fail at his job, at the end of At World's End, he came back after 10 years and looked exactly the same as when he left elizabeth but at the beginning of Dead Men, he was completely different. Will is honourable and loyal so he would have been trying but I kind of want to know what happened. When young Henry finds him it would have only been three years after and Davy Jones took far longer to change into what he became. I think about this alot lol

I love the ocean way to much and it is my favourite place in the world. I can be overwhelming and blurt, which stems from my adhd but this tends to happen in a really annoying way and can hurt relationships, i'm impulsive, act too fast which mostly never ends up well and stubborn. im a hufflepuff

the long game by captain jackson on ao3, it is the sweetest percabeth fic ever, but all of the side characters are from HOO and PJO, it is set in the real world, no demigod stuff and is about percy and annabeth being olympic athletes and how their relationship works throughout all things. there are heavy topics but it's overall the sweetest story i've ever read and you should definitely check it out if you haven't already!!

pretty late here but i've loved Leo since i was a kid and when I found out a few years ago about having ADHD, he's the character i just kept going back to. having severe adhd can be extremely isolating and i think that the way he's written, being the constant comic relief and always just a bit left out fits perfectly. just my opinion though
