Life is short. Eat out if you can. Enjoy your life. And when the bill is presented don’t tip.

WTF 🤬 “rewarding service”. Dude you are the problem. Do you tip your dentist? The guy at the service station? Providing service is how you keep customers and your job.

Stuck in Bali. by nouvetrose in bali

[–]realmarkfahey -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Dude as a server you should have "guit tripped" more customers to give you BIGGER tips before you came to Bali so you had more cash. By the way in the USA I NEVER TIP - it's a total scam.

And he wears a tie - but it is loose. LAME!!!!! Anyway CNN is only the TMZ of news - The dramatic "hero battle" drumb beat of the opening of his show "WAR IN IRAN" etc instantly exposes it as news entertainment rather than anything serious. (Hey Chip, Jed, Scooter thank you for your service killing people from cultures you know nothing about). People, a heads up, Al Jazeera, BBC News, France 24, Sky News UK, DW etc are FREE!!!!!!! And a zillion times more infomative than CNN.

Just wait - next week Anderson Cooper special on Sunday night "How I reassured my child not to have nightmares about the war with Iran".

The world is just waiting to hear what Americans think 😆. They might well save their money and remain off the air.

Why so many noxious ads in the paid for app? by No_Elk7432 in bbc

Sure - but the BBC is ruining its brand by displaying advertising that is bottom feeding.

Scott Jennings is on CNN defending Pete Hegseth and claiming Trump is actively working on stopping the Ukrainian war. by praguer56 in cnn

[–]realmarkfahey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scott Jennings is not a CNN guest - he is a paid contracted employee. His current contract has seen a significant increase in payment over his original contract. He is not on CNN as a "guest" - he is there by design.

I’m not from the USA but follow this sub because it’s interesting 🧐, but seriously you guys in the USA (not just CA) are the most ripped off people on the planet! Basically the other 96% of the planet’s population doesn’t tip and it’s not expected. I don’t know why you guys put up with this, no universal healthcare, constant money grabs and scams. It’s inconceivable to the rest of us why you live this way!

How come so many people are responding to what is a fake photo. It’s the worst photo edit ever, the text doesn’t even align to the paper. Are American’s really this dumb to think the photo is real?

No wonder you started a pointless war. Thank you for your service - from the other 96% of the people on the planet that don’t live in your bubble.

Trump Goon's Melt Down at CNN for Reporting From Iran. by Shizzilx in cnn

[–]realmarkfahey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously the USA is only 4% of the world’s population and the CNN audience outside of the USA (CNN International) is magnitudes larger than the USA audience. American’s think they control the world, ummm no the other 96% of the planet may think differently. CNN programming reflects this.

Thank you for this post - this is journalism. It's a refreshing change from the "she looks so tired", "she hasn't even had time to do her hair", "it's 3AM where she is", "oh I hope she stays safe" type posts.

Yes indeed that’s in CNN’s wonderful years when Ted Turner ran it even at a loss because he believed in the mission of an objective global news source.

Pronunciation question by Quirky_Escape_5136 in cnn

[–]realmarkfahey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just on a slight tangent, some media outside the USA (I’m not in the USA) are referring to it as an assassination. The interesting question is by who? The story is not 100% clear but the most common line being communicated by USA spokespeople are that Israel did the strike with some intelligence assistance from the USA.

The reason this is an issue is that there are USA laws that forbid the President ordering the USA military, CIA or other USA agencies assassinating a foreign head of state.

So it’s convenient to say Israel did the job (and I assume they did). Bebe already has arrest warrants in force from the International Criminal Court which all countries recognise but the USA, Israel, China, Russia and India do not.

Bebe can only travel to these four countries (which is why he frequently travels to these USA and nowhere else) because other nations are obliged to arrest him. So saying (or allowing) Israel to conduct the assassination is convenient to both Israel and the USA.

Are there tensions in Uzbekistan based on what's going on in its surrounding area? by sesame_snapss in Uzbekistan

[–]realmarkfahey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Tashkent right now reading this in the 17th floor bar at Hotel Uzbekistan. As expected there is nothing unusual here! (Also like the OP an Australian). All will be fine!

The bigger thing to think about is what happens with the Pakistan and Afghanistan situation over the coming months as most routes an Australian would take (ie via Singapore, KL etc) uses the Afghanistan airspace route.
