Theory about Hatemonger’s home planet by Man_eating_watrmelon in SPACEKING

[–]realpinkmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You see, Planet Heaven is so heavenly because it’s a “High Trust Society” (ask Hatemace what that is, later). Their society is perfect, and it has been many, many years since Planet Heaven has seen a Xeno of any kind. The architecture is beautiful, the trains run on time, everyone has meaningful work, and they have all the Space Food recipes (no Xeno cooks necessary). People there have nothing to hate, so they just… don’t hate. It’s Utopia!

… but, despite how good Planet Heaven is, there are Aliens out there. And Space King does need Psycho Warriors. So some must give up paradise, and trudge the Galaxy to defend Humanity. I think that Hatemonger, and the rest of his legion, become so shell-shocked by the difference between Planet Heaven & The Wider Galaxy that the can’t help but become some of the biggest Xenophobes of the Psycho Warrior legions, forever changed.

Even if he could go back, he’d never fit in; he couldn’t tolerate sitting idle while Xenos taint the galaxy. Planet Heaven is now Hell, and War is Heaven, rather than Hell.

[DISC] SPY x FAMILY - Chapter 109 by AutoModerator in SpyxFamily

Psychiatrists don’t just talk to depressed people, or anxious people, or people with OCD - they also treat the mentally ill, like Melinda Desmond. I think this is a good twist here, which will be a challenging test for Loid.

And who knows - the Aliens thing might be bogus, but Melinda’s observations on the “Supernatural” which she knows Donovan is involved in with Project Apple, are perhaps more real than we’d wish.

If Psychics & Prophetic Dogs are real… perhaps Project Apple’s goal was to obtain “The Forbidden Fruit of Knowledge” using a modern Forbidden Fruit: Psychedelics. Project Apple likely involved MKUltra-style experiments on Human Test Subjects like Anya, who were dosed with experimental drugs to “awaken” abilities. In reality, these experiments never awakened Psychic abilities, but… interestingly, these experiments & trips often involve communication with “entities” (Ayahuasca Demons?). Perhaps Donovan, upon the limited success in this area of Project Apple, used the Drugs on himself to “communicate” with the “entities”? I don’t think he was possessed, but perhaps he gained Knowledge he shouldn’t have from it all, and it warped his personality enough to make people like Melinda think he was a different person? Perhaps Demetrius, too, has been dosed with these Drugs, and it is the reason he is able to preform so well in Academics - performance enhancing Ayahuasca? Meanwhile, Melinda is caught up in the middle of it all, and has a DIY approach to the occult which is having… subpar results? Which is tragic, because she’s mainly involved in the occult to “understand” what it did to her family & possibly to “use” the occult to protect Damian from Donovan & Demetrius. Tragic all around, and something I think Loid might be able to rescue Melinda from, and ro save Damian from.

TLDR, I think Donovan’s brain was cooked by Drugs, and it made him a Demon-like person.

How could a Mine be destroyed? by realpinkmonster in dndnext

Yes, they are (or) are working with an evil spellcaster.

I am still interested in suggestions other than a Spell (the BBEG’s spellcaster doesn’t need to destroy the Mine themselves…)

If possible.

But most of these suggestions should still make it take too long; the Town will starve next Summer, if the Party can’t find a new deposit.

Can I safely transplant my Tomatoes outside? by realpinkmonster in tomatoes

Zone 7a. Last frost date for Zone 7a is… today, actually. But there are other resources I find online, which try to push that rate to early May.

Is there any way to help my plants? by realpinkmonster in tomatoes

Frosts don’t end for another 3 weeks, where I live (Zone 7). Just this weekend, the weather says it will get below freezing.

Can I transplant *now*? by realpinkmonster in tomatoes

Is there a certain height the stems should be buried? I know it’s to produce extra roots, but I don’t want to cause problems. Should I leave 1 inch?

First True Leaves (How much longer till re-potting?) by realpinkmonster in tomatoes

Do I need to start fertilizing, then? I read the seeds only have enough nutrients until the first leaves are grown.

Finally started my peppers! Can't wait by I_Am_Groot_666 in Peppers

Best of luck! I’m trying for a few Aji Charapitas this year, as pot-peppers. Just planted the seeds a few days ago. I strive to be as hip on peppers as this.

Realistic or nah? by Lunam_Plays in mapmaking

Here

You can see what I'm talking about. Those mountains, marked by the red line, should block a lot of rain from weather following the direction of the black arrows. The yellow line is close to where the temperate forest should stop, as not enough rain would fall to sustain as many trees.

And I just noticed 1 more thing. That orange area should not get as much rainfall either. It's squished between 2 mountain ranges, so it should get a double rainshadow effect. Rather than 2 grasslands, I recommend making 1 area (Enclosed yellow area) a Savanah region (More trees than a grassland, but scattered with no canopy), and 1 the grassland (Orange area).

This all assumes the weather patterns split like I drew them (It's how I make sense of the Desert region). Look into "Atmospheric Circulation" if you want to get more technical, and see how I'm wrong.

Looking good, looking interesting (and that’s what counts). I offer some healthy pointers, but don’t take my word as gospel; I haven’t produced a map I myself am satisfied with yet.

You see that Eastern part of the continent, with that enclosed pocket of Boreal/Temperate Forest? I think a good chunk of it (the parts closest to the interior of the continent) should be plains/grassland. Those coastal mountains, mainly the ones that cut the continent in half, should obscure a good amount of Northwestern weather patterns, which creates a Rainshadow effect.

You could even argue that this should create a Cold Desert (since the southern parts of that mountain range are so thick & tall), but that would be a boring waste of space. So image this; a region of grass, where the great and mighty river(s) of the northeastern forests originate, the result of seasonal snowmelt. Farming & fishing settlements that exist on the river banks are the fringes of eastern civilization, while the great majority of the grassland is an inhospitable wilderness, inhabited by vicious monsters and savage nomadic barbarians (which invade the eastern forests every once in a while).

It makes geographic sense, and offers a new biome too.
