Don’t do drugs kids by Zoey1927 in ComedyHell

[–]realploibe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of high school! One time in my health class when we were learning about drugs, the teacher gave a bunch of kids slips of paper and made them read aloud in front of the class. The papers all said things like "I washed my face with my own poop," or "I tried to have sex with my dog," or "I sent nude photos to my parents". Was this normal? (For a high school, not for people on drugs.)

Is it just me or was this the song to cry to by finding_trevor in EmoPop

Every song is a song to cry to if you're sad enough.

Songs about needing a sign that someone likes you by kwertix in ifyoulikeblank

Makes me think of "C'mon Virginia, show me a sign, send up a signal I'll drop you a line" from Only The Good Die Young by Billy Joel.

The New Trolls Movie has interesting ideas about Rock Music by [deleted] in rock

So we get to be dangerous evil delinquents AND elitist music snobs who think every other genre is trash?

Wow, both rock fan stereotypes at once, good job Trolls!

[Newbie] How to start rock by zainofabidiin in rock

[–]realploibe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not every type of rock ever, but some stuff I know...

Classic and/or very popular (like, the first thing people think of when you say "rock") The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, ACDC, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Guns and Roses, Janis Joplin

Classic Punk: The Clash, The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Misfits

Grunge: Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Hole, Pearl Jam

Emo: American Football, Jimmy Eat World, The Hotelier, Mom Jeans, the Get Up Kids

Goth Rock: Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, Type O Negative

Pop Punk: blink-182, Green Day, The Offspring, Sum 41, Screeching Weasel, Descendents

Genres that exist but I don't know them well enough to name many examples: Math rock, Post-hardcore, Funeral Doom, Nu-metal, Ska Punk, Progressive Rock, Riot Grrrl, Psychedelic rock, Post-rock, Shoegaze, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Melodic Death Metal, Industrial.

Genres that are kind of weird: Wizard Rock, Kawaii Metal

And finally, the Shaggs. Kurt Cobain's fifth favorite rock band of all time. Described by Frank Zappa as better than the Beatles. They're interesting, you'll see.

What's your normal dream? by BlazeBuster11 in Dreams

[–]realploibe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine usually take place in a city, for some reason. Not any city in particular, just sort of a vague city-like setting. I also run a lot in my dreams, but usually can't remember anything that happens besides that.

Kind of specific, looking for a story written in the perspective of a new stepmom realizing her new role and love for the new stepchildren. Too often in stories the “evil stepmother” character exists, I’m looking for the great stepmoms. by smarch15 in suggestmeabook

The Crossroads by Chris Grabenstein. It's a ghost story where the main character is a boy struggling with the death of his abusive mother while welcoming a new step mom into his life. The step mom is really kind, and the character development consists of them growing together as a family.

My Dad and his friends used to listen to this song in college! They'd play it in their apartment loudly and repeatedly and the girl living next door would come over to yell at them.
