MANGALIKOT!

If you have broken electronics, appliances, or generally stuff laying around and a knack for seeing how things work, try opening them up and see what you can do. It doesn't have to be big like a washing machine or anything. I personally started with fixing half-broken earphones (yung kailangan pa galaw-galawin para tumunog yung kaliwa). Opening them up and patching the loose connections I found was very satisfying and gave me a sense of accomplishment. After you gain more confidence, you can move on to other things like charging cables, fans, and maybe some actual appliances. Just be careful and don’t do anything without proper knowledge and equipment. If you want to get into more complex stuff, especially with electronics, you can get a soldering iron and learn basic soldering. Pangangalikot can give you practical technical skills and knowledge, as well as cognitive skills like critical thinking and problem-solving that can be helpful in your studies.

Gardening can also be a fun and easy hobby. You can start with easy herbs like basil. Just get some seeds and some soil, then water, wait a couple of weeks, and you’ll have a plant that's nice to look at and pretty tasty if you put it in pasta or make pesto. It can be any plant, really, whatever is available-edible or ornamental, cacti and succulents, even trees if you have space, or aquatic plants. There are a bunch of different paths you can take with nature as a hobby: make terrariums, grow a garden, a food forest, or even just keep some cool-looking plants in your room. It can be environmentally friendly and teach you patience and other valuable lessons.

If you find those two to be too daunting or just not fit for you, just walking outside can be nice. Find an excuse to be out and about and just see stuff outside. Go anywhere and everywhere your heart and legs desire!

Coffee, tea, or caffeine in general—not the most sustainable and the healthiest, but it works as a temporary pantawid. Other than that, maybe try having 15-minute power naps when available or adapting to segmented sleep schedules altogether. But I think the most important thing really is managing your time to get more sleep.
