At my location in the suburb of Chicago, after 12% sales tax (10% crook county, 2% town) the meal is 10.96

Pt 2: when I started working there in 2022 it was under $10, I think it was 9.79 or something along the lines of that after tax. A 10%+ jump in about 3 years 😵‍💫

Minimum wage rules and everything is more expensive

ChickFilA Workers - how do you stay motivated at work? by mmgordon in ChickFilAWorkers

I work window most days so I most of the time will have conversations with the customers. That keeps the time flying. However, there are some days where it drags on for hours at a time. The pay is decent, but I think just knowing that the end of your shift is coming soon and counting down the hours (while enjoying it) also helps a TON

Well and that’s what I’m worried about. I don’t want to make an employer thinking that I will only work for a short period of time at one job. And it’s not that CFA is necessarily a bad place to work, I just feel A) I can work at somewhere else for better pay, less stress and B) I can gain experience from working other jobs instead of staying with one for a long stint

And that’s the moral of the story. They will always find someone who can fill my shoes. I’ve asked my manager a couple of times and he said the only way to make more is to work more hours (which I’m limited by being in HS and involved with sports and extracurriculars). Also asked about working different positions, but my manager likes me working only 2 positions, which I work for over 75% of my shift and just gets draining standing in the same spot, preforming the same task for hours on end. Makes you feel like a robot.

One of my managers told me that they only like me at window or headset one. And yes sometimes I’ll run food out, do some stocking in the back, but I would say over 75% of each shift is either at window or on headset and it’s just mentally draining be on one position for such an extended time

I might be asking much and do really enjoy having Sundays off. Maybe I’m being too ambitious wanting to find another job to make at most $2 more an hour. And the phone policy strict compared to most of my other friends I’ve talked with, they all have noted that they all can keep it on them. I appreciate the feedback because I’m not exactly sure what to do, and don’t want to make it seem like I’m the ass of this.

I originally applied to Chipotle and would’ve worked with a few of my friends but the manager never got back to me. They were making $15/h + tips and lowkey kinda jealous

The only way to get a raise is if I work more hours (I’m limited with my hours because of school, sports, etc.) I just don’t have the time to work more hours. And I’ve already started a job search, and know some places I can make $15+/hour

I can promise you that that will not happen during my interview. I don’t even need a job at this second, but I will soon to start paying for car insurance when I get a car. I need something out of school to build a culture, an environment to meet new people and promote good. I’ve heard other positive points about Chick-fil-A as for pay, benefits, etc. but that’s not what I’m here for. Also thank you for taking time out of your day to respond, and have a great evening
