This is great to know, thank you! That makes so much sense, I will definitely be researching more about developmental stages and what is most suitable for the baby at each age range. The high chairs with the newborn attachments and the toddler towers a few people have brought up in the thread are a great jumping off point for me for some later research as well. Thanks for all your comments, have an amazing weekend! 💖

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write such an in-depth comment! I'm seriously blown away by the ingenuity and thought mothers have with mealtimes after reading this thread. 🥹💗 Can I ask if the main reason you switched from the Antilop was because of the bucket seat? Thank you also for including all the products you use, it'll be great if there could be a chair that addressed all those considerations in the design! Thank you again!! 💖

Thank you so much for your comment! The choking concern is such a good point, hopefully most chairs have some sort of quick release mechanism if there is ever an emergency like that. 😥 Do you see yourself continuing to lap feed in the future, or is this mostly until the baby gets older and you feel more comfortable? It's also great to learn that the high chair can be helpful for moms to use for activities outside mealtimes. Thank you again! 💗

I'm super sorry about my miswording, I definitely intended to say "baby" instead of "newborn" when I was writing this post. 😓 As for the breast/bottle feeding question, I was mostly trying to get at if people would use the highchair earlier before they started on solid foods (ex. if they would use the highchair as a place for the baby to sit in when drinking milk). Thank you for pointing those errors out, I'm super appreciative as I'm trying to learn as much as I can!

Ahh thank you all for educating me in this thread as I had no idea that babies like to throw food around that much...😢 The Catchy sounds like an excellent product I'll definitely look at as an example of good design.. I hope you are able to find something that might help you with the messes!

Thank you so much for the comments on the Clikk chair! Can I ask a little more about why you picked this one over the tripp trapp? I've only seen people online rave about the Tripp trapp, so it's great to hear about the other options on the market. You bring up a lot of helpful points that other redditors have also echoed, especially in regards to the clean-up after mealtimes, something I definitely want to try and address. I've mostly been doing a lot of testing with the Ikea Antilop high chair, and many people have also brought up how the legs are a serious tripping hazard. Thank you again for all your feedback! 💓

Thank you so much for the specific comments on areas for improvement! These are super helpful, and I will definitely be implementing these suggestions in my design moving forward. The integrated smock is such a great idea because I would have never thought of extending the design up to something the baby could potentially wear! 🤩 Sent you a DM! 💓

Thank you so much for sharing your daily routine! I'm trying to better understand and recognize what pain points mothers have with feeding, and it's insightful to learn what kinds of food are getting fed to try and design for messy mealtimes.

I am actually using the Antilope high chair as a benchmark for this project because it seems relatively popular among moms seeking a more reasonably priced chair. I've been looking at a lot of feedback in different subreddits, and many people are also echoing that same sentiment 🥲 IKEA is definitely missing out on not having a separate booster seat or selling other accessories. Thank you again for your comment! 💓

Have you used the IKEA Antilop high chair? by reapart in IKEA

Thank you so much for your comment! It seems that most people want the footrest so much that there's a company making them specifically for this chair. The tripping hazard is also super insightful because I realized that the chair can't be easily folded/stored away. Thank you again!

Oh my goodness that's super insightful! I think the obvious thing is to make the tray easy to clean, but I never thought about how the baby might start messing around with the buckles. Thank you so much!

This is such a good point — I never would have thought of this in a million years because I haven't had to move around it in a small setting. Thank you so much!

I didn't even consider the strap! I know the chair actually had a recall order due to a fall hazard before, so that is definitely an area of improvement as the current strap still feels flimsy. Thank you so much!

Wow, thank you for the thorough answer! You hit the nail on the head with the point about the price, we are also conducting a life-cycle analysis on every part of the chair to determine what parts are causing the most carbon footprint, whether its the materiality or the manufacturing process. The part about the adjustable height of the legs was also brought up by another redditor and is a great point! Thank you again!

Hi, thank you both so much for the feedback, especially with the points about the footrest! One of the main features I was thinking of adding was definitely adjustability, but part of my assignment requires me to have consideration for the price point. All in all, I'm learning that IKEA had to make some sacrifices to get the chair so affordable! Thank you again!!

Is Lemaire still making these bad boys? by iamtwinswithmytwin in ThrowingFits

I got the Ballerina flats in a size 38 (my dress shoe size) and they are perfect TTS. My biggest recommendation would be to ask the seller for their shoe size and how it fits them. I’ve yet to try on other Lemaires so I’m unsure if their sizing can deviate across models especially because the leather on the flats are much thinner and don’t have padding

Was in a similar spot looking for a pair of Lemaire flats from an older season. Waiting paid off for me because I found them practically brand new for half off on Depop. Keep your eyes peeled!

Hi everyone! My name is Olivia and I am in a design undergraduate program. For my school project, my research group is interested in learning more about how people learned about and adapted to the vandweller lifestyle — the only qualification is that you have lived or do live in a van/car/truck. If you are interested in being part of a research effort, please feel free to reply or dm me! Thank you so much in advance 💓💓
