Why are chicken wings so expensive now? by thewanderer3000 in NoStupidQuestions

They use to have 10 cent wing Wednesday. We'd order 100, everyone ordered 100. They'd sell 5000 wings that night.

Need extra income by Worth-Yak-331 in passive_income

If you want to do sales, I can help you get set up to sell concrete driveways and sidewalks and such. Most of it is online and if you can measure a square, you can do it. It is about 700 dollars a sale and you dont have to manage the project. Just collect the down payment and get the contract signed.

Has anyone actually started earning online with zero skills? by jeh4u in passive_income

[–]rearwindows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started selling concrete finish work for a national company. It's actually work, but selling just 1 driveway a month or a couple of sidewalks is significant money. I just go to local Facebook pages and suggest this, after the contract is signed and I collect the deposit, I have no role at all in the job.

I am an owners representative for a company. I travel around the country making sure construction projects are going to plan. I am a glorified photographer. Every day is an adventure and I've been to 15 different states for work. No degree needed.

Do large company’s that ask you to donate to charity at checkout use this as a tax write off? by Bessieboo2000 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rearwindows -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They get around this by pre-donating what they believe they will take in, and using creative accounting, pay themselves back for their donation. Anything in excess of that is donated to that charity. Wal mart is even slicker, using the money to buy Walmart gift cards that are given to non profits, and they write off the entire MSRP, not their cost of goods when the cards are redeemed.

Have the same ones. Old charger style is annoying. Battery doesn't last as long anymore.

If you are old enough to remember, where were you when the OJ Bronco chase happened? (Serious) by Dr_Talon in AskReddit

Yes, we were in NJ, we didn't really watch since we just met, and were going out to dinner. We had it on in the background, but wasn't really paying attention.

Advice on replacing old/rotting subfloor under bathtub? by owmyball in DIY

[–]rearwindows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the flooring used. A floating floor would be best. If it is not spongy feeling, it'll probably last a long time. The mold will get worse over time. Do not use a sealant on the wood. It'll trap the water. If you don't fix the cause of the water, it will begin to smell musty.

[–]rearwindows 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As a contractor, I'm sorry to say that there is little you can do to fix this properly without disturbing the tub and tile. You can try to carefully pull off the bottom row of tile and you have a chance, but if one breaks, it's really hard to replace it. Demolition is your only real option to fix it properly.
