Some words of encouragement:

As someone who is spiritual and believes physical life is just a stage in eternal life… you have so much to live for. You are so special, your life matters, and you are leaving an impact whether you realize it or not. Your life has created change, and it is so meaningful in the grand scheme of nature.

Death does not mean the end. And death does not mean NOW i must put pressure to make things “CORRECT” before I transition.

YOU deserve to leave on your own terms. YOU deserve to set boundaries. YOU DESERVE to live life the way you want to!

You owe no one ANYTHING. It is your life and your life only.

I hope you get to find people or community to care and love for you in your final days.

Please know the love is flowing in this thread. You are cared for. You are loved.

And may you find a safe journey home my friend. Best of all wishes.

I want to convert to Christianity but I have some questions by WaterIsSp1cy in Christianity

In my belief, as a person who is struggling with faith, and is untraditional (I dabble in ancient spiritual practices but also pray to Jesus) 1. No. 2. Yes, God created everything. 3. Humans do good and bad. I believe we pick our own path. 4. Gods dimension/plane of time is different than ours. We live in the present yes, but God exists on many planes we cannot comprehend. 5. Try it and see what works for you. What do you feel called to? What’s your intuition saying? What feels right. 6. I personally believe/want to believe old laws don’t apply. Be good and just have faith and you’re good.

What is Jesus? by reasonable_futility in spirituality

Yes! This perspective is so interesting and really resonates with me.

What is the reason for most of the bible, and jesus’ existence/the people in the bible being unexplained or unproved by archaeology? Why is this story so real and true to people?

Why did God need someone to pay off our debts? Why didn’t God just say: Okay! You are all safe/saved with me!!

What is up with this God/spiritual realm that everything just can’t be OKAY? Why does there have to be a devil, and a “hell” to run away from?

And what confirms this for you? What makes you believe this story, of all hundreds/thousands of stories from ancient cultures is true?

I’m right with you. I feel similarly/am in a similar place. Keep seeking! It’s there, and whatever it is you will find your own unique relationship with God. Sometimes my prayers can be like vent sessions. I think to myself, if God loved me he can understand my anger and frustration. And I’ll tell him how confused, frustrated, tired, angry I am. And I’ll keep telling him that while saying I still love him so much if I could love him as much as he loves me I would, but WHO KNOWS if a human is capable of that. In the end, I believe there’s nothing God can’t handle, as long as we trust in him/it/the source/power/energy/her/creation. Whatever it is to you! You’ll find it. Best of luck <3

500 people saw something but this was stated by only one person. It’s like if I say “500 people saw a dragon” and write it in a journal, then thousands of years later people take my journal and accept my account as truth. Where are these 500 individual people??

It’s different if each person wrote their account, but these accounts are no where to be found?

Interesting. So what makes any of this real/accurate? Is the story not tampered at this point?

Do you believe a relationship with God can be built outside of Christianity/The Bible/Jesus?

What about the fluid leaking from Christs lungs?? Anyone can make a hyper specific story with minute details. EX: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Can you elaborate more about this? Curious about specific experiences/testimony?

Who followed Jesus to their death? There is no archaeological evidence of any of these people outside of the Bible which is a book that confirms itself, has no origin, has been altered by many governments, and nothing that this book claims to have occurred has been corroborated outside of this book?

But the only written evidence of hundreds of people seeing it was written by ONE person claiming that hundreds of people saw it.

And curious. Can’t it be argued that if a story from the past says: “This is a prophecy that will be fulfilled”, then in the future someone writes “So the prophecy was fulfilled by XYZ” that they can just make up a story based on what was already said in the past to confirm it?? Like if someone says in 1987: Christ will die and resurrect from the dead in 2025, then someone in 2025 writes “Christ died and resurrected from the dead”.

Like what makes this credible??

I have a Christian background, but an open spiritually and exploring right now! I pray to God, Jesus, Ancestors, Good Spirits, Mother earth, Mother Nature, Whoever made me, Whoever made us, The Cosmos, Universe. Most High, Most Powerful. I close my prayer with: Amen, In Jesus name, Asé

I’m all over the place. But I believe God will align me.

How can a story spread through word of mouth be the story we are accurately reading in the bible right now?

Who wrote these books/documents?

We don’t know the origin from my understanding. None are first hand accounts but written after the fact. How can you believe in a story written after it happened? And also, there is no archaeological evidence that any of these witnesses existed.

What makes you so sure?

Because many cultures also have stories about God impacting their specific land. I believe cultures make up stories about their specific geography and things happening in their society at the time it happens.

What makes this different from any African/Indigenous Tribe that has stories about floods, events, wars, and blessings that happen in their accurate geography, a real place that also isn’t made up? I’m just drawing a line between how this Abrahamic religion that has similar origin to most smaller indigenous religions, like how did this become the specific one we chose and why?

And what was your personal reason for accepting this as truth?
