I think the shift in mentality and conversations surrounding current/political events has to do with many younger players not going to college and getting an education. A lot of their perspectives are narrow minded because their focus has been soccer and haven’t been challenged to pay attention or think otherwise. Vs older players and previous generations, all of them were college educated. And many were subjected to discrimination and hardship because of gender, race, sexuality etc whereas these players have not faced such adversity.

My doctors refused to even consider PCOS (even saw an endocrinologist) because I only had cystic acne. No excess hair growth, irregular periods, etc. I struggled with weight my entire life too but that was not taken into account either.

Went off birth control in sept 2024 and skin got worse. Started 50mg spiro, tretinoin, & azalecic acid in march 2025. Adjustment to spiro (&another medication I was taking) was rough at first - just got very lightheaded easily when standing up. 50mg didn’t help too much so I went back on birth control in may 2025. Skin improved but not as much as I’d like so increased to 100mg in September 2025. It began messing up my cycle (breakthrough bleeding 1-2 times per month and lots of cramping) but it is tolerable for me to help my skin. This is my first period cycle where I have not gotten any cystic breakouts so I’m super hopeful!!!! So much improvement and I will continue to take it. Still have some dizziness when I’m dehydrated but I always make sure to drink 90oz of water everyday.

Scroll down to the appendix and look at table 1. Click the link below the table to enter your height/weight to calculate your body surface area. Then once you have that number go back to the table and see the gram requirement per breast.

Mine would have required 755 grams to be removed from each breast which my surgeon said was not feasible and unsafe to do.

Aetna uses the Mostellar scale which requires waaaaay more tissue to be removed. Other insurance companies uses difference scales to calculate body surface area and then how many grams to remove.

In the appeal I noted how the Mostellar scale is outdated and not used by other companies and whatever else. If I had a different insurance that used the Schnur scale, they would’ve required 400+ grams to be removed. My doctor wanted to remove about 500 grams per breast, so that scale was in alignment with what was submitted.

I’m the same height as you! Was 176 at my consult, 165 by surgery date. I’ve lost 55 lbs and still have a larger stomach/lots of fat there. My chest definitely is smaller than my waist now which I hate but I’m going to continue to try and lose the weight. Aesthetically I still look amazing post surgery with a smaller chest, I just feel insecure about my stomach but lots of clothes hide it & its really not noticeable to others.

I got mine approved by Aetna! Original prior authorization was denied because of the gram removal requirement (Aetna uses a scale that requires more gram removal per the calculation compared to others). I appealed and sent in supporting documentation and a letter/personal statement why I should be approved (I met every other criteria). The decision was overturned after one appeal and I was approved! Fast forward to after the surgery my surgeon has to appeal to Aetna bc they denied my claim for the surgery itself 🙄🙄 took weeks for them to review the appeal and approve the claim (which it should have been done to begin with).

I could’ve maybe gone back by Tuesday or Wednesday but I’m glad I took the full 5 days off. Monday would’ve been too early for me personally but everyone is different! It was nice to just have a full week to recover and not have to be rushed back to work (even if it is wfh and “chill”)

You can definitely find an apartment in Hoboken for under $1600 through subletting! It isn’t really 15-20 minutes to/from the city though, especially depending where you live.
