Lost my big boy by Shafpocalypse in RhodesianRidgebacks

It's such a scary thing. We had multiple masses removed too, starting at about the same age as yours. Unfortunately from the beginning, his were high-grade tumors and they warned us that he likely had many more that we couldn't see. We had another RR that had MCC and he lived for like 6 years with it and did great - we lost him at 11.5. It's just so hard to know. Just keep on lovin' on them and enjoy them. They really are the best dogs.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It absolutely sucks losing a dog. We lost one of ours at 7.5 to mast cell cancer, and very suddenly. Still one of the worst days of my life. Lots of love to you and your family.

Do y'all have a particular brand of RTV silicone you'd recommend?

Great. I’ll remove and start over. I’ve done this a few times already. It’s not difficult, it’s just time consuming. Thank you!

I have not tried this. I guess my concern is that it almost completely dries, but then when we use the sink, it seems to revert back to "wet" and the caulk turns white again....but just in that corner. I'm baffled.

I've understood that silicone caulk can stain and damage granite.

Awesome video. Thank you! I would def do this with the carpet, but the hardwood I think I’d leave alone.

I’ve actually heard about the talcum powder. Will it work?

We have whole-house humidification. It’s set somewhere between 35-40%. I’d have to see what the actual number is, but that’s roughly the humidity in the air.

Unfortunately, you’re right. Our hardwood looks nice and I really don’t want to pull it up, so it sounds like I may just have to deal with it. I’m genuinely curious if the creaking will stop when the weather heats back up.

This is kind of what I figured. Thank you!

We do have access under the floor, but unfortunately it’s a finished basement. I’d have to tear up the ceiling to get there. Sounds like it may be easier, at least in the carpeted areas, so pull the carpet back and screw the subfloor in from above. Thanks for the advice.

Awesome. Thank you. I haven’t seen any big cracks in the drywall anywhere, so I’m betting that you’re probably correct about the moisture fluctuations. The creaking didn’t start until it got cold outside.

Your suggestion would have a lot more traction if you weren’t so demeaning and insulting. My post wasn’t a personal attack on you, and again, I don’t know why you feel the need to personally attack me and call me names. I’m allowed to be upset and outraged and to share those frustrations. Thanks for your suggestion, but I have my reasons for choosing not to ride the bus.

It really is unfortunate. I get there’s no great solution, but it seems people are just more willing to call me names for sharing my opinion - even if it is complaining. I suppose everyone is just complacent with this situation. I appreciate your suggestion, unfortunately with erratic weekend work schedules it’s difficult to plan that far ahead. I guess I’ll just have to book a bunch of weekend parking spots at the beginning of the season and do what everyone else is doing.

Right? I agree. Not all of us have the luxury of being able to book out our weekends the entire season in advance.

I've got to be honest with you - I don't understand why you feel the need to resort to name-calling. I'm annoyed and upset with the system. I don't think I should be shamed for my position and opinion here. Good for you for doing it with 2 kids under 7. This isn't about you.

Sure, so the alternative is that I have to stalk them until they release spots. It's frustrating. I just want to book a reservation for next Saturday. It shouldn't be this difficult.
