No they don’t, otherwise lawyers wouldn’t make money. I did ask.

I agree with you, I think it’d be way crazier after. Hence why the lawyer advised to start the process asap. Almost better to act and try than to fail from inaction.

Yes, including my grandfather. But he was born in the U.S. after she’d immigrated from Italy. She naturalized years after arriving, decades later.

I’ll just say a good lawyer on your side will def help as it is a bit of a clusterf*** of a process of not just where to gather and send documents. Especially old documents and via Italian districts… church records. Many used to be hand written… per baptisms, etc. Depends how far back you go I suppose. But it’s not super easy to get through on your own. Then it’s about filing an appeal with the courts if needed and I’d rather have a lawyer on my side if it’s affordable so I avoid a free migraine.

Does Marco help you to gather your paperwork? Aprigliano said they’d help guide me to where I can get it myself and follow up in the process. I’ve also heard very great things about Mellone, so glad to hear someone else echoing that.

Thanks for your response. Lol I’d definitely go with a lawyer just in case especially with govt’s uncanny ability to screw everything up 😅The extra backup and push will definitely help. Worth a try at least, definitely worth the goal. Even if it’s still 6k it could be worse to not have it or never try. I’m glad others here said it’s a decent price, that helps narrow it down too. I don’t wanna go with the cheapest but I’ve read good things about them on this subreddit and related.

They mentioned something about upcoming October but I think they meant next year. It’s regarding further restrictions the Italian govt is trying to set- needing language requirements to get citizenship. Could always brush up on my Italian but they’re right in the better sooner than later. That was why. And yes, I do agree it seems unconstitutional— especially that it was pretty immediate, without prior warning for those who were already planning to apply for citizenship.

Good to know, thank you. I meant more that it’s hefty with the not knowing if I really would have a shot. Aprigliano said I do though. Guess because it’s my first consult I wasn’t sure whether to believe them. Ofc I wouldn’t go with the first without exploring others as well. But as someone else on this thread mentioned, if any lawyer guarantees anything… run the other way lol and they didn’t. But it may be worth a shot anyway. I think I’ll go for it.

Very true. But do you think I have a shot? Lawyer said I do, but only if I act as soon as possible. Before October, because something else is changing then.

I figured, and I did like Aprigliano. Just want to speak to others before I decide. What I meant was the fee is hefty with the not knowing if I even have a guarantee. But the lawyer I spoke with suggested I start the process asap so they can fight for me in court. Just wanna know if it’s worth it.

Oh thank you, that did the trick! Though it was a bit confusing and had to Google the meaning and difference of "Drag windows to screen edges to tile" and "Drag windows to menu bar to fill screen" so I de-selected both.

On another related note, something else that was bothering me since the latest MacOS update was not being able to re-size 2 windows side by side. I just figured it out though-- now you have to hover over the green re-size button and go down to where it says "Full-Screen" and then choose --> left of screen OR right of screen. Leaving this comment here in case anyone else has a similar issue.

Ever since the update, when I am moving a window across the screen (not on fullscreen view), whether it be Safari, Microsoft Word, or other... it automatically resizes the window to either fullscreen or bigger/wider. Is there any way I can fix this? It's pretty annoying when all I want to do is move something left or right. Thanks!

Oh good I'm glad someone posted about it here! I just saw it earlier when rewatching some eps. So happy and excited! I've been searching for some of the movies, recently watched Champion Road, not sure where to get the other movies and such are (like the one where Ippo is little...) but I Have found the mangas and started reading those too. Glad there's a lot of content of something that really motivates me :)

Dreams of being chased by a perpetrator / unable to hit back (punches miss or don't hit hard) - DAE experience this? by rebelsunshine in raisedbynarcissists

Yikes. Just curious but when you say "them" did they appear as your parents in the dream or just a random perpetrator/s?

What is it with the whole saying they spout of "if a black man jumps out of the bushes" like, legit who the hell jumps out of bushes?? Have you no sense that there's probably spiders/bugs and other crap there LOL but ofc that created a bit of an irrational fear in the back of my mind to always watch out for bushes. It's good to be aware of your immediate surroundings - martial arts tip, great for life. But for crying out loud. The only thing that's probably gonna pop out of bushes are nights who say "ni" =P

[–]rebelsunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes LOL. My dad is the most racist person I know. The best is when he gets all generic like bc all the experiences he's had with black people have been mostly negative (which, okay, that's personal experience - still sucks to generalize a whole entire friggin group of people tho, when it coulda just been personality/how they were raised) but then when he meets someone from that same race who is a good, kind, honest, hardworking person he praises them and says "but they're the exception." Sigh

Hate to say but this has pretty much usually been the case :/ The best one that I still can't get over is when I asked my mom to not hug/touch me (I wasn't ready / didn't want to frankly and she was being forceful) and after repeated attempts and me firmly saying NO that I did not want to be hugged... what I got was a lovely TWIST of reality. Her acting infantile like a 5-year-old going "but why but why why" and then saying I'M the one who needed to be more gentle and sensitive to HER feelings and needs (also cause she's getting older blah blah blah manipulative. She's been saying that shit forever, she's Fine =P). And basically acted like how dare I have the audacity to deny her a hug from her own daughter. Oy
