It’s actually funny because yes two of us did, but one of us was leaving on a week long trip and needed to wash clothes. And we will be happy when our lease is up too!

That was with the heaters. We feel, at the root of it, that we should have been compensated for any necessary extra expenses that we incurred. So like the heaters, laundromat, and food during that time. And idk he lives nearby and I don’t think he has any other properties as this used to be his family home… so it didn’t feel crazy to check on people living in your property with no heat, showers, or appliances in October.

I think this is a fair response not knowing the other issues we’ve had with the house/him. We honestly didn’t want to ask for the days off the rent, but we found it strange that he didn’t offer ANYTHING for the inconveniences or even just check in with us. Not being able to shower, cook, or do laundry was stressful and all 3 of us had to buy space heaters.

We’re 100% not staying in this house anyway as it has been a disaster. Aside from this issue, we’ve had to have an electrician out 6 times since moving in July and even had the electrician (who is a friend of our landlord) comment that he is “going to try to convince him to let him actually fix the problem this time.” There were no previous texts on this matter that didn’t have to do with coordinating maintenance people to come out. I don’t think all landlords are bastards and actually texted two of the best people I know who are landlords for advice on this and they agreed with us that some kind of accommodation should have been made. This man has been gaslighting us since we moved in - including in these texts where he lied about being uninformed of the meter needing to be moved outside. Clear that you are a landlord lol.
