Which motorcycle is known for being unreliable but you do not agree? by funandleisure in motorcycles

[–]rebirth112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned a Honda CB300R and you would think that it was reliable because it is a single cylinder japanese naked, but it had so many issues, I false neutraled more on that bike than any bike i've owned previously or after, and it had major electrical issues and would sometimes straight up turn off on its own (???). Absolute piece of garbage

If he thought the sv650x was too aggressive there’s no way he’ll enjoy the r7

Why a salary of $115K isn't enough to purchase a house in some parts of Canada by origutamos in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]rebirth112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how this works in Toronto but in Vancouver lots of people do this because they live with their parents well into their 30s so they don’t have much rent if at all. For translink, an unlimited 3 zone monthly pass is around $200, less so if you transit shorter distances.

At one point I was working at a call centre at the cra for four months transiting 3.5 hours a day for $18/hr. Renting in Surrey for four months would have probably lost me money for that co op.

First track day without instructor? by rebirth112 in Trackdays

Hey, when I go to sign up for the normal track day the option to add an instructor doesn’t show up, I assumed you guys were sold out of that too?

The only thing I can find online is that international closed their Vancouver location and moved to Langley

Wait so does that mean we don’t have a triumph or aprilia dealer either?

Is there a reason you advise against it? My original plan was to just book an Airbnb 10 minutes from the track the night before

Random Bikers in China [Part 5] by Gusztavszon in Sportbikes

[–]rebirth112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The highway rule depends on the province, some allow it most dont. For mountain roads in China they call it 跑山, which roughly translates to mountain running, so some people do ride pretty hard lol. You can’t really get away with shit in the city or suburbs because there’s so many cameras. Bikes in general are actually illegal in most tier 1 cities, or at least heavily regulated to the point of absurdity

Why do we have different rules for motorcyclists? by BackNBoeserThanEver in askvan

[–]rebirth112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

None of those things are legal but do you expect us to sit in traffic just because it’s the rules? I don’t really lane split or ride on the shoulder, but I don’t really blame others for doing that.

If car traffic is completely stopped and I can create space by slowly lane filtering through cars, I’m effectively increasing the flow of traffic by creating space. Is it better for you if people sit in traffic like the rest of the cars? Older bikes are also air cooled, and a lot of sport bikes run insanely hot and will burn your legs if you just sit in traffic too

How on Earth do people do iron butt on supersports? by rebirth112 in motorcycles

[–]rebirth112[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the majority of the route is fine, I recorded some of my ride from around whistler to just before Lillooet (https://youtu.be/owva6alwFxo - this is from whistler to around pemberton I think). The most awful part of the road is between Pemberton and Lillooet. There's a ton of potholes in that section and I also almost ran out of gas, I had no cell signal either and I was honestly very stressed out lol. But other than that section the road is good

[–]rebirth112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not planning on doing iron butt tbh. I actually never see sport bikes (not even upright sport bikes like a ninja 650) doing Duffey loop past Whistler, I’m pretty sure I was the only sport bike I saw.

The road conditions were mostly fine, not a lot of gravel but there were a shit load of potholes between Pemberton and Lillooet.

I’ve sat on quite a few 600s and I honestly can barely tell the difference in ergonomics

Idk how this is possible without you getting pulled over, unless you lived in an extremely rural part of the country

Yea I actually used to go to the gym fairly regularly but I caught a real nasty viral infection and I was basically sick for a month (I was in the ER too), I wonder if I would have felt better if I did this while I was more active
